Heads up coffee drinkers and Sears shoppers.

I was in the Charlottesville, Virginia Sears today and saw the Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB500BK (black) for $27.49 on clearance, brand new un-opened box. I bought it because my wife wanted a new coffee maker and this is a very good deal. Again, YMMV since it is B&M. Good luck to others that want this and find it at this price.

Struck out on all the other posted Sears clearance deals: the camcorders, the air hockey tables, etc. but got this, which I needed!

Both the white (DGB-500WH SKU: 49034) and the black (DGB-500BK SKU: 49033) came up clearance! Oddly, the white rang up $27.47 instead of $27.49. I grabbed one of each. I may have grabbed the last black unit, but there were quite a few white units still on display.

The thermal model (DGB-600) and the current model (DGB-550, which looks virtually the same as the 500) were $109, if I recall correctly.

I have had two DGB-300 machines, and I was happy with both of them. They made good hot coffee. Clean up is a little more work than the typical coffee maker, but really not too bad once you get used to it. This is the higher model, with a slightly more refined design and a built in charcoal filter. It's also 12 cups instead of the 10 cups of the 300. I'm sure it will be great!

The DGB-500 was available for many years, and I almost never saw it on sale for less than $100, while the DGB-300 often went on sale for $40 or $50.

This is a STEAL. Grab them while you can!

I just feel like giving my own review of this.

I bought one of these around Christmas (well got it for a gift)

THe Fresh grinding was AMAZING.

BUt the coffee pot brewed the coldest coffee EVER. Barely even Hot. Definately not hot enough to make a "good" pot of coffee.

IF you really like the flavor of your coffee buy a BUNN Then buy yourself a seperate Grinder.

Don't forget the $5 off $30 coupon for Sears in another thread, might work here. Just get some coffee filters or other filler for $2.51 to use the coupon and pay $25 plus tax.

Extra charcoal filters would be one way to go, if Sears has them. Or, just get a Brita pitcher and forget about the overpriced filters for the coffeemaker.

Running this without the charcoal filters voids the warranty and there will be problems with your coffee maker down the road.
