Heads up coffee drinkers and Sears shoppers.

I was in the Charlottesville, Virginia Sears today and saw the Cuisinart Grind and Brew DGB500BK (black) for $27.49 on clearance, brand new un-opened box. I bought it because my wife wanted a new coffee maker and this is a very good deal. Again, YMMV since it is B&M. Good luck to others that want this and find it at this price.

Yes, a SKU from the receipt would be helpful please. There was none available on the link.

Poor reviews on Amazon keep me away from what otherwise looks to be a great deal.
Thanks OP, but I'll pass on this one.

Score in Wayne, NJ!

Struck out on all the other posted Sears clearance deals: the camcorders, the air hockey tables, etc. but got this, which I needed!

Both the white (DGB-500WH SKU: 49034) and the black (DGB-500BK SKU: 49033) came up clearance! Oddly, the white rang up $27.47 instead of $27.49. I grabbed one of each. I may have grabbed the last black unit, but there were quite a few white units still on display.

The thermal model (DGB-600) and the current model (DGB-550, which looks virtually the same as the 500) were $109, if I recall correctly.

I have had two DGB-300 machines, and I was happy with both of them. They made good hot coffee. Clean up is a little more work than the typical coffee maker, but really not too bad once you get used to it. This is the higher model, with a slightly more refined design and a built in charcoal filter. It's also 12 cups instead of the 10 cups of the 300. I'm sure it will be great!

The DGB-500 was available for many years, and I almost never saw it on sale for less than $100, while the DGB-300 often went on sale for $40 or $50.

This is a STEAL. Grab them while you can!

I bought one of these over three years ago, and it's been going strong each morning since. I have no need for another, but just wanted to pop in and give it a positive review.

take care,
THP

I just feel like giving my own review of this.

I bought one of these around Christmas (well got it for a gift)

THe Fresh grinding was AMAZING.

BUt the coffee pot brewed the coldest coffee EVER. Barely even Hot. Definately not hot enough to make a "good" pot of coffee.

IF you really like the flavor of your coffee buy a BUNN Then buy yourself a seperate Grinder.

My 2 cents on the coffee maker. I've had 3, and I like them. The thermal version always shuts off immediately, and your coffee will go lukewarm within an hour or so. So make sure you have one with the 2-4 hour warmer unless you drink all the coffee within an hour. Also, after a year or so the grinder will not work so good, which is why I've changed them out for new versions. Luckily it seems like you can find a deal (like this one) every so often and get a new one for ~$50.

Don't forget the $5 off $30 coupon for Sears in another thread, might work here. Just get some coffee filters or other filler for $2.51 to use the coupon and pay $25 plus tax.

Amazon reviews.

I did see these reviews before. I always take user reviews to heart but don't base my buying decision on them. Too many users that write bad reviews are simply doing so because they are not educated enough about the product to properly use the product, so they end up frustrated, hence the bad review. With that said, this is a good enough deal to even take a chance. $27 bucks for a decent brand coffee maker makes it almost disposable. It does have 3 year warranty if needed.

Extra charcoal filters would be one way to go, if Sears has them. Or, just get a Brita pitcher and forget about the overpriced filters for the coffeemaker.

Running this without the charcoal filters voids the warranty and there will be problems with your coffee maker down the road.

Thanks, didn't know that. What I meant was, rather than buy a new filter every month or whenever, just leave the "spent" one in, and use water that you've filtered via Brita. I'm guessing that the replacement filters are small, somewhat overpriced, and don't last terribly long.

We had one of the Braun AromaMaster coffeemakers awhile back that used replaceable charcoal filters. That one you could easily run with or without the filters installed, and there was no consequence re/ the warranty. Just assumed this Cuisinart was similar.

Unfortunately, they don't make good coffee.

Gevalia has one for free.

The one I got took too much time to clean.
