I'm starting to build a HTPC system, but this seems like a better deal? no? the components added togehter seem more expensive than the system itself?

My opinion is that the original posted one is better - Phenom 9600 is a bit slower but comparable to Q6600, ATI 2400XT is on par with Nvidia 8500. Then the comparison is between 1TB (2x500GB) v.s. 400GB or 500GB, and Blueray drive v.s. lightscribe (not too useful in my opinion). It shouldn't be too hard to get a decent pci b/g for less then $30.

That said, Buy.com seems to be having a bit of a problem shipping this machine - Customer service's been telling me they'll "put in a request" with the fulfillment center to see why it's taking so long to ship the order that I placed a week back.

This seems dead - I am cancelling my order after close to 2 weeks of waiting. The website is still showing it as in stock but according to their customer serivce: "the fulfillment center is having a delay in shipping this part of your order".
