Just bought one in San Diego before close for $419 plus tax, they have at least 30 available

Beware, they tried to add a $29 surcharge because they removed the add-on software

I complained and got a un-touched one

Going back tomorrow for the $20 refund for price match

Nice deal OP! Reminds me of the crazy one per week laptop deals back in December.
Anything like the $100 off for Internet service signup offers from back then?

Don't forget the free $100 MP3 player!

what's this about a free mp3 player?

also, I bought this last week and got the PM. Apparently the store in West Hollywood, CA has only optimized ones left. However, due to some weird reason, they're waiving the optimization fee (~$29). Plus, I also heard something about how restocking fees are also waived for these items -- it may have something to do with them having to open the boxes to do the optimizations.

The one thing that really bugs me about this laptop is the placement of the touchpad. My right palm keeps on hitting it, leading to all sorts of unpredictable behavior. Otherwise, I'd say this thing is comparable to the Banias-era Centrino I got 4 years back. I kind of wish this thing came with WSXGA+ though.

You get $100 off computer + $100 off MP3 player
I don't know if the coupon still around

is it on sale right now? any way to check availability? is it hard to get the drivers to put XP on it? also, anyone have an idea how well it would play a game like counter strike source? i read someone mentioned only getting 12fps, but i would think you could play pretty well on basic settings

Because there is a limit of 1 per household, I asked my wife to buy one separately.

I was able to get one that was open box and get 5% discount. My wife however was charged $30 for the blah blah blah software optimization, and $20 for the restore CD (that's right, $20 for the "restore CD"). I have never even heard of extra charge for the restore CD!

Anyway, the one my wife bought will be returned tomorrow.

The floor salesman tried to hit me with the whole "there is no restore disk" thing yesterday when I picked mine up. Of course, Geek Squad will make one along with something else I forget for $160. When in reality the restore disk is on the hard drive (I bought a quad-core ACER with the same setup.) Restore can be run by hitting F11 (I think) at startup or burn a set of restore disk from the restore manager software.

Some of BB's FUD seems downright illegal.

I got asked to leave the local BB because I only purchased the specials every time I went in. No clearance, RSS searches, dubios coupons or any other funny business. Just legitimate mover's coupons and rewards certificates.

Where's the coupon for the $100 off an mp3 player? I want to jump on this deal, so I'm curious to see where this is..

scored 1 in BB, columbia Heights store at washington DC. They left 1 more. I had tough time to get it for 399 + Tax, since the sales person told me that they have optimization, and restore PC installed on it, and that cost additional 59 dollars. They are not going to sell for 399. I explained the sales person dude, before coming, I called, and they never told, and I told him, it also took me to come to 1 hours through changing bus, and metro to the store. I told I want to talk to Manager, and sales person with name bory was nice, and he called the manager, and told him the entire story. Manager said ok, and give it to me. 1 left, before I left the store.
