It's in today's paper in So Cal, so I'd say it's B&M too.
There are a lot of reports of these failing (Newegg.com), but I need cheap storage to archive my CD collection in windows lossless or FLAC. Two questions:
1) Anyone seen a better deal on 500GB than $0.16/GB?
2) Anyone have a suggestion for a frontend to use EAC to rip to FLAC, or a suggestion for a different program to rip to FLAC?
Seagate aquired Maxtor the end of 2005...., I've always read Seagate makes a good harddrive.

Well, I pulled the trigger, along with 2gb of Crucial Tracer DDR2 for $20 AR.
I've had 3 of these Maxtor Drives in a Raid 5 array for roughly 8 months and so far I've had zero problems. The only complaint I have is that they are pretty noisy when compared to other brands of drives I've used and I've pretty much used them all.
And to answer eugovector's questions, EAC can be configured to Rip CD's directly to FLAC as long as you have flac installed on your pc. I set mine up years ago so I couldn't tell you exactly how to do it off the top of my head. Just google EAC+flac and I'm sure you will find the info you need to set that up.

Without much searching, I found Newegg has 3 comparable drives for the same price with free shipping, and Buy.com has 1.
OEM vs Retail
Have you ever ordered an OEM HD from Newegg? Their packaging leaves alot to be desired. Sometimes good. However many times it gets a single layer of bubble wrap.
