In an effort to ease the pain at the pump, Chipotle Mexican Grill will be giving away free burritos, tacos or bowls on Wednesday.
The food will be offered at Columbus-area stores from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Only one item is allowed per customer and no fax orders will be accepted.
The company said it wants customers to be able to spend the money they'd usually spend on dinner on gasoline instead, The Columbus Dispatch reported.
"Columbus is a great market for us," said Chipotle spokeswoman Crickett Karson. "Our customers, many who are younger, are suffering at the pump. We thought, 'We have a little extra in the kitty, and let's give back.'"
