(From Slickdeals) With the summer movies coming out, you can save some money by buying movie passes online. Bulktix.com carries passes for AMC/Loews, Regal/United Artists, Cinemark/Century, Landmark, and Pacific theaters. With movie costs at 10.50 and 11 in Boston, this has been a steal for me.
They have some new coupons via Google Checkout:
freeship - free shipping (still works)
tryitout - $4 off $60 of more (works with 8 of any type)
fiveoff - 5% off any order of $100 or more
giftpack and firstorder (both from last time) are dead
This makes it ~7AC for most of the value passes and ~8AC for most of the ultimate passes. I have had a lot of success using value passes even opening night, I rarely ever get turned away with them, but bring both types just in case.
This is a deal if you don't want 50 passes and if your costco doesn't carry the chain you want for a reasonable price (it seems that the prices at costco do vary...). I know some of you live in the 'heartland' and pay $3 for movies, but for the rest of us, the passes are actually a good deal
go to local school and buy movie ticket for 6 dollars no tax too

Thanks OP I get mine for $6.50 through workingadvantage.com (I am in NJ, and our tickets are close to $12, so it helps!), which also sells them at a discount. Still, green for your effort, thanks!

I posted about this site last time; they are definitely fast and reliable. It also takes the leg work out of ordering paper tickets via clubs or driving to Costco...

AMC Rocks, I love thier laid back seats. Tickets in Cali are $10.25 for adults. I like to go to Costco to get discount passes or I have also started using a site my girlfriend in New York told me about called DiscountMoviePasses.com the prices for the AMC Silver passes is $7.00 bucks and they are even giving away free popcorn coupons with orders. See you all at the new Batman Movie.
An alternative is http://nationalsales.amctheatres.com/ I've been using them lately.

I usually go with 5 of my friends so this is a really great deal. I do have one question tho. Let say you know that batman is coming out in 1wk. If you buy it 1wk in advance can you see it in opening day?

It doesn't matter when you buy the ticket as it is a contractual obligation with the movie distributors. YMMV.

mar said: Tickets at Bulktix must have gone up. It now say they are $7.50 and $8.50.$8.95 for the best AMC pass now. That works for my area (West Los Angeles) since AMC movies are $11.50 but I was able to go to a 5 pm showing of "The Dark Knight" for $8.50 on Friday at a Pacific theatre in Culver City, Ca. without a pass showing up just 10 minutes before the movie and there were no lines and the theatre didn't sell out.
seems like a good deal, I been paying $12 for each ticket. Im going to compare costco prices to that website, and then pick up some tickets from one of them, thanks op.

Actually if you work it right it is a great deal. You only need to get a small drink which is $3.50 or less. When you present the coupon you ask to upgrade to a large popcorn for a dollar. If you are with your friends grab one of those cardboard drink boxes they hand out and pour your popcorn in it. Than you have your friend take the empty bag and get a free large re-fill. So let's summerize for $4.50 you get a soda and two large bags of popcorn, I think this works for me
Peace

Hello –
You can usually get in to any movie you want to see after a couple of days and once the hype has gone away. Just pick a movie that is close in time to the movie you want to see and than head on in to the real movie you wanted. The AMC passes I get say 2 weeks after the movie has been out or two weekends. I get these because they are cheaper than the gold and I have never had a problem getting into a movie within the first couple of days. Not really the honest thing to do but in this economy I have to be Mcyver
