FalloutBoy said:Thank you, thank you, thank you to the OP! I sent my 2GB rockboxed sansa through the wash this week - I have two of these and they were both refurbs and had both been running strong for about a year till the washing machine incident. Can't beat the price and the feature set - these little things are awesome!

If you know you're going to be rockboxing for sure, might as well add a 4GB card from this thread and have a 10G flash player for less than $65!

Falloutboy, don't turn it on & just put it out to dry in the sun for a couple days. That's what my crazy engineer uncle eddy told me when I dropped my phone in the pool last summer. Sounds nutty but it worked.

Also, you can use a hair dryer on low or cool heat if you live in a gloomy sun-deprived place like Seattle (j/k).

If your screen goes blank just take the battery out.. fixed mine.

I almost got in on this, then I remembered my phone is 8gb.

In for one, thanks!

Now, where do I find an inexpensive extra USB cable for this?

Sorry for the caps. Just wanted to get your attention.

Thanks for posting this. I ordered 1 just for fun since I already have a few MP3 players laying around in addition to the Zune and Zen. After reading all the feedback about the plastic and metal bracket ans switches I decided to ask Froobi to cancel my order placed just yesterday.

I recv'd mine on Saturday...works great. Did anybody else get theirs yet?

yes. rcokbox'd it and added 4GB microsd. looking new & good so far.

Got mine today. Looks immaculately new.

Also noticed that the wheel is the new and improved Sansa rubberized wheel.

I feel like getting a skin for it now.

I just received E260 with about 50% charge on the battery indicator. After charging for about 4-5 hours, the indicator finally moved to 75%. It has been about 2 more hours, and it still stays at 75%. Should the initial charge time take this long, or do I have a defective unit? I have it plugged to the back USB port of my desktop PC.

green, paid the same price for the 4 gig one at woot about a week ago. This thing is surprisingly heavy though compared to an Ipod Nano, but about the same size.

Still, for 1/3rd the price of a Nano, it's well worth it.

Got mine yesterday - there was a speck of dust on the screen so I took it apart and cleaned it. The piece holding the wheel down appears to be metal - no complaints about that from me. I'm not liking the navigation so far, but I've yet to try RockBox.

Also needing to find a good, free video converter as no software was included and links to stuff on the Sandisk website don't seem to go where they used to.

I was never happy with the video output using the factory firmware. I would recommend updating to rockbox and use WinFF if you're interested in video...

have not got mine, in fact, no shipping email yet - and now the site is down?

Does anyone know a good link for adding video? I'm can download to my PC, but not my player. Thanks in advance.

It's not a problem with the headphone, but a problem with the jack. These things are cheap for a reason. I don't think I would purchase from Sandisk again.I've had my Sansa E260 for about 18 months. No problems with it.

24 months, no problems. Works like new. Battery too. Heavy use in an ag/dirty/greasy environment.

Rockbox works just fine.

I bought a total of two refurbished e250s about a little less then a year ago. The one from woot came with the outer shell a little less glossy and pretty. Buy.com refurb came very pretty looking and in like new condition. I believe some of the shell components seemed different as if Buy.com sansa was better.

The woot.com one failed just awhile ago so I have to format the whole thing out. I don't know what the cause of it freezing up is but I installed rockbox on the woot one and not the Buy.com one.

They both had the same songs in them and both were used about an equal amount. The Buy.com one is still working very nicely and still looks way better then the woot one.

I guess what i'm trying to say is sometimes you win on a refurb sometimes you don't

I got mine in the US mail and it seems okay. I charged it up and loaded it with songs. The selector sometimes goes the wrong way while spinning the dial in one direction. I sent Froobi an email requesting an RMA and they sent me a RMA number for me to send it back to them. Let's hope the second one isn't a dud.

Green. Got me one after trying out a co-worker's!
I hope they ship it out before the holiday weekend.

got mine yesterday. player came well protected in a pink bubble sleeve. mine looks like new except for the r e f u r b sticker on the back.

Do you (or anybody) have a good solution for getting video on the player? I can save the video fine, but can't seem to move it over. I'm sure it's a user error. Thanks.
