Seems like rockbox code is dead. If you get this definitely ROCKBOX IT. You can record directly to mp3 format using much less disk space than sansas default WAV format.

It shipped via USPS in a small brown box. Inside the box is the sansa in a pink bubble wrap pouch, usb charger/sync cable and earbuds. The only other thing in there was a flyer for free music on their website and the packing slip.

Receive mine this afternoon - V1 firmware, cool.

The E270 has 6GB, not 4GB. Also the price after using coupon code is $45, not $60. Therefore, the $/GB is the same for both players, but the E280 from Buy.com may not be "rockbox" capable.

I went to find new hardware, then rebooted and it came up.

So, rockbox is a replacement OS/firmware? Does it still handle things like the FM tuning and the voice record function?
