Disclaimers: I've had prime for years so I don't know if the free trials are still a big deal. But "back in the day" this was post worthy. Second this worked for me with 3 browsers so I assume it will work for you but we'll call it YMMV to be sure.

I second fatluncher's comment about being hooked -- I had a free trial for 3 months, let it expire, then went through withdrawals. Have been an Amazon Prime member ever since (about 2 years).

I've been a Prime member for about 2 years now after a 3 month trial. Kudos for Amazon's marketing-it worked for me

If you had the free trial once, and are looking for another new trial. You will need to setup a new account.
I did the free trial at Christmas time ... figured it would be good over the holidays ... bought my prime membership as soon as it expired ... couldn't live without it. LOL .. . this is worth it for anyone wondering if they will like it... just a friendly reminder - don't forget to turn off the auto-renew if you really only want it for the free period.
Another Prime addict here (do they have a 12 step program for people like me? It's definitely worth it to be able to make instant purchases for under $25 and not have to worry about shipping costs or finding a filler. Highly recommend it for those who haven't tried it yet.

how do they track new accounts?? I tried setting up a new one, kept getting the above error
I have been using items that are backordered as $25 fillers in the meantime, then cancelling it when the item I want ships. Anyone find these lately?

I just signed up for the free 30 day trial of Prime when I bought a motion detector and it went through just fine. i can't find where you check so it doesn't auto renew every year,though.

I actually spend less with prime. Before I had prime I would buy more items I might not have bough otherwise just to get the free shipping or buy for a higher price at a B&M. Now I take advantage of Amazon's lower prices much more often to save more $$$.
