Office Depot also had this notebook on sale last month.

They had the same deal a few weeks ago. Very good deal and a nice laptop. It has the Onion stamp of approval.

Is there any floating around without tech restrictions?

I bought this one the same deal last month, it runs fast and brite but gets very warm running. it needs notebook cooler. My old Dell Inspiron 6000 is better that runs no need cooler support.

You should have applied for this: Free Office Depot Discount Card - 7% Off Everything instore (Includes Tech Items). You still can apply, but you'll have to use it on later deals as it's supposed to take 15 days to send it to you.

No this laptop does not need a cooler nor does it get even close to running warm/hot. Based on your grammar I can clearly tell you do not understand how laptops deal with thermal dynamics. Please dont post your opinion when you have no knowledge. Thank you.

Having a slower 1.46ghz processor and 1 mb less cache, I expect that to run a bit cooler. But the difference is insignificant.

Not many $699 notebooks (none of the Inspirons, for instance) feature a magnesium case and shock dampened hard drive, in addition to its other desireable features. At $499 it's a HOT deal.

You'll have to pry my 4620Z from my cold, dead fingers. BEST laptop I've had in awhile - cheap ($100 internet signup FTW!), light, small, nice aesthetics, nice features (media reader, firewire, PCMCIA). Threw in a cheap Hitachi 7K200 200GB 7200rpm in there and now its really slammin'.
Thanks again to FW!

Most Staples/eBay coupons do not exclude tech.
The $50 off of $500 does not.

And for some reason eBay has killed major sellers of the coupons.

Looks like a sweet deal. Does this have bluetooth? If not, is it easy to get an internal bluetooth card and install it?... like on a Dell?

No internal.
I have seen USB, but not an internal to add.
So you can add internal to a Dell, all of them?

6-cell lithium-ion battery.....hmmm
Acer link

Six-cell lithium ion battery: up to 2.4 hours life depending on configuration and usage; 2.5 hours recharge time with power off, 3.5 hours with power on
