Yet you did not know what FAR stood for. Reminds me of many students of foreign languages who first/only learn the cuss words.

So is this a good deal or not? Are some of the deals listed in the above desktop posts a better bang for the buck?

No comments regarding this system and deal?

A chain is only as strong as the weakest link.

That graphics card is absolutely horrible. How could they even put that in there?

LOL.

It's not a Graphics Card, it's Intergraded Graphics. It's a Video Chipset. Don't go off by Numbers, this I can tell you that you don't understand graphics hardware.
For the parts, it's decent/warm deal, but I like my Dell 530 [Q6600 + 20Inch LCD FTW (580USD)] more.

It has a PCI-e x16 slot anyway, so you can upgrade the friggin Graphics anyway. I mean look at AMD/ATi and nVidia, their having a price war, the HD4850 and GTX 260 as well the GTX 280 and HD4870. Plus all their older line is going on sale 9800GTX as well the 8800GT(s).

I think I might have found something that could make this deal hotter (or warmer, whatever).

According to ZT Systems, if you buy an Affinity computer with a Vista OS (as is the case here), you qualify for one "Bonus Pack" which is specific to that OS (Home Premium, Business, etc). The Bonus Packs are products that you can get free after rebate (excluding S&H). The Bonus Packs for Home Premium are shown here

It appears that all you have to do is authenticate Vista by following the link on the main page, they give you some access codes and you get your bonus pack. The details are a little fuzzy, but if it works out you get something nice. If nothing else you could flip it for a pretty penny (the router is going for $120+ on eBay).

Also, for those having a tax-free weekend: I emailed Costco about their tax-free weekend policy and this is how they responded:

Thank you for your e-mail to Costco Wholesale.

Currently, Costco.com does not offer a sales tax holiday exemption at the point of sale.

Please reply to this e-mail and include your order number. Our Tax Department will consider your holiday tax exemption, and if verified and authorized, the tax amount will be credited to the credit card used on your order. Email us after you place the order. We can issue you a credit after it has shipped.

Thank you,

David
