PC Richard & Son has the Frigidaire FAA055P7A Window Air Conditioner w/ EER 11 for $99.97 on their website. It is still marked in the store near me for $149.97.
LINK to PC Richard website
This unit retails for $219.

Lowest Price on Froogle from a reputable place is about $130

Use this with an electric company's $50 rebate (or something similar since not all electric companies have the rebate) and you can walk away with a nice AC for $50 AR. I didn't add this part in the title since it's REALLY YMMV.

List of things to do/know:
- Bring a print out if you can. The salesman was REALLY suprised at the price when I showed him the print out. When you go to the store they are still marked $149. He showed the manager and I walked away with 3.
- Refuse all extended warranties
- Don't order from the website if you are in NY or NJ. They don't give free shipping for these areas, they have their own truckers deliver them and it costs WAAYY too much.
- Don't let them talk you into a higher BTU if not needed. Measure your room before you go and consult with the Energystar website.

I originally posted this at SD, but didn't get any feedback. Let me know if this is good or shred it apart; either is cool. I want to learn how to be a MASTER DEALER!!!

I got a Fridgidare 5000 BTU window AC at BestBuy last year for $99. So this seems to be the going sale rate for these things.

That's the going rate for an AC that's about 9.7 EER. The 11 EER's don't usually dip this low, I don't think.

What's the model of the one you bought in BB last year?

New Low Price $149.97

Went today to purchase. Showed salesman at 14th St. branch the print out with sale price of $99 and he said that was internet pricing only. I just checked online and price is now $149. Which Manhattan location did you go to?

alert mods

Yep. Internet back to 149.97. However, check the circulars inside the store as it was also listed at 129.97 in the flyer. The salesperson balked at the 99.97 internet price but did honor the 129.97 price.

I checked the website again, but this time I put the actual model # in the search field, and the sale price of $99.97 came up. (The $149.97 price comes up when you search for all A.C.) I made sure that today's date appeared on the print out. My sister took it to the store and showed the salesman; he asked her when she saw it on the web, and she showed him the date. After checking with his supervisor, they honored the price. No problem whatsoever. If there is any change to this, I'll let you know.

Lowes has a 5000 model for $96 in some areas. And some areas such as in socal have the 8K for $117 after a power company rebate taken at the register. Use the 10 off $25 coupon to make it cooler.

Here's the thread for the Lowes Frigidaire sale link

This is funny last year when i bought my 5000 btu cost me about $90 for Gold Star w/remote control. I would say this price $99 and plus shipping!!! This is still very expensive for 5000 Btu. I would add more money to buy bigger Btu unit from local store. Not sure why this year AC unit get more expensive???

I think some of you guys aren't aware that ACs with an EER of 11 are quite a bit more expensive than the run of the mill ACs. They are suppose to be a lot more energy efficient. This model is qualified for a $50 rebate from my electric company. Most of the lower cost ACs do not qualify due to their EER rating. I bought 5000 btu ACs for $50-60 last year but nowhere as efficient as this one.
