I've got the ET-CSDU2-BK from Directron 2 weeks ago for under $30.00 shipped, and officially, this one does NOT support RAID 1.
I put two IDE drivers into it by using the SATA adapter I've got. (yeah, did some modification to add additional power adapter for the HD). Due to some strange reason, one HD can not be recognized (as long as I connect that HD, the whole unit can not be recognized). I RMA the HD to Seagate and just got the replacement. When I tried to put in the HD, guess what I've found? The jumbers in the enclosure has hidden settings. On the manual, it says use jumper 3 for RAID 0, jumper 4 for JBOD, and use no jumper for one HD.
But I noticed that the jumper layout is different from the manual, and there is some printing been marked off by some paint next to the jumber. I take the board out and read carefully, and it says use both jumper 3 and 4 for RAID 1. Bingo! I'm currenly have the disk in the RAID 1, but haven't tried to pull one disk yet. But it seems the enclosure is read/write from/to both HD, and in windows, I only see one HD.

BTW, the one I got from Directron has a different board layout than the manual on eagletech's website, and the fan is placed in the left up corner instead of in the middle, and it is better vantilated now. And according to SD forum, sb called eagletech asked about RAID and they said it is NOT out yet, here is the link: http://forums.slickdeals.net/showthread.php?sduid=0&p=11200715

Warning: it is not officially supported, and good luck get the new version from Directron.

Thanks for taking the time for the tutorial. I will personally hold out for ethernet connection or esata, but do appreciate the post

Dumb question time....

Does anybody know if Directron gives a small discount on a local pickup if the item is listed with "Free UPS Ground Shipping"?
