It looks like it is also being sold by KitchenAid at the 199 price on eBay.
I just picked up the nickel colored model for 249. It's a great espresso machine! And beefy too, nearly 30 lb.
Here is the KitchenAid forum for this machine:
They have lots of good information on how to use, any past issues, etc.

Link. So should pay $12.95 based on their special price listed. Shipping is $35 on their eBay auctions. So you can save $$ and also not feed the eBay/PP demons in the process.
Edit: Of course, then you can't take advantage of the MS Live CashBack deal either, though you will get 6% FWCB.

Oh My.
"Phoebe is right in that it is trial and error. I've been heavily involved in espresso for going on 3 years now and although my shots are great maybe 80% of the time I still get those nasty ones you just want to pour out, but I can't stand to waste money like that.
First, make sure you're using good drinking water. I have a high tech water treatment system to go with our well water. I buy pool test strips so I can check hardness, PH, alkalinity, chlorine, etc. to know exactly what is going into my machine. Then you must have fresh beans, no more than 1 week out from the roast date. And yes you do need to buy a grinder ASAP. The Pro Line grinder is a great addition to the machine in terms of looks, performance, etc.
Another thing to consider is making sure the machine is warmed up thoroughly. I leave mine on for about 30 minutes before use. I also run a few blank shots (no grounds in basket) just to heat things up. Heat your shot glasses or cups up as well. Experiment with different temps. and listen for the thermostat to click on/off. The temp. gauges do help, but the thermostat kicking on/off is a true indicator of proper temp. I always wait for mine to kick off, then give it about 30 seconds and pull the shot....."
I have a $29 Mr. Coffee Espresso maker that does better than that, and it's easy to use. I don't have to run any "blank shots"...
they fixed the price for you?
I've had this machine for a couple years now. It's not the best espresso machine out there, but I have no major complaints and for $200 I would definitely jump on this if I didn't already own one. That is a great deal.
