Title says 35.99, it's actually seems to be 39.99
Also this PDA seems to have nothing (no wifi, no bluetooth, not even clear if it has an expansion CF/SD slot as is)
Date first available at Amazon.com: September 4, 1999
So this is 10 years old technology, plan accordingly

It looks tempting, but in reality my Palm Centro does more than this thing...

I have the 3630, which is said to be the same. See this faq for details on this hardware:

This is a pda from 2001. That doesn't mean it's bad, it's actually just as fast as the T-Mobile MDA (htc wizard) I purchased at the end of 2006, except the MDA has more memory and runs a newer version of windows mobile. This 3650 unit can run Windows Mobile 2002, there is a free rom upgrade link somewhere on HP's page if it isn't already running 2002.

It's a nice looking unit and the screen is big and For a beginner pda this is a good price, and you can install for free TCPMP to play mp3/ogg/aac+, divx videos 360x240 or below are also good to go but keep these things in mind:
-if you're running vista, it won't support installing software onto this pda (you can copy/paste software but not run installers that require activesync. maybe there's a workaround but I don't know about it)
-I don't think this package includes the CompactFlash Expansion kit, which you need if you want to use a memory card. This kit does add considerable bulk to the pda, btw
-no wireless internet
-how is the battery in this refurbished unit? if it needs replacing, that'll cost you another 20 to 30$
-dumbass design of yesteryear pda's means that if you don't charge/use the thing for a couple days and the battery runs it, it will wipe out your files/installed software and startup with a fresh install next time you turn the thing on. Don't wanna risk it? Pay $ for extra backup software

with the limitations of this device the only use i can find for this unit at this price would be a fully programmable cool remote control for all your electronics in the house and of course you could take small notes on it. also a wired GPS for a bike/car but then again there comes the space limitation for maps. but as far as mp3/divx player, the expansion kit will make it too bulky to carry around (same applies to the idea of fixed GPS). i want to use my old axim X30 as a remote for electronics (it has built in wifi and BT there are more uses for it).

I'm getting all misty. This was my first PocketPC. It was awesome in it's day.

Price is now: $79.99

A good deal at under $25 but not for $79. I had 3 good years with this iPaq. The stylus spring was the first to go so you could no longer use the built in stylus. Year 4, the image on the screen became reversed. I had to literally place it against a mirror to read the text. Forget about writing anything because it was miscalibrated everytime you turned it on.

I have the Mio P550 now but there's certain features I miss from the iPaq. I miss how being able to write in color on the Calendar and Contact address book. I miss drawing pictures in Word. You can't do that with the Mio (or any new Windows Mobile units). I miss being able to sync and tell the iPaq to overwrite all files on the PC. Now the Mio only syncs the latest file that has been saved. You do not have a choice to override.
