I don't get it from a store. I actually have never seen that the stores have the ad for the following week in-store. They usually claim not to know anything about the following week's deals.
I also don't think they care that it's posted online. The next week's ad gets distributed midweek to hundreds of thousands - at least - of households in New York and New Jersey. They obviously want to get the word out. Frankly, I don't know why they don't post it themselves, the way Staples has started doing with its "sneak peek" on Thursdays.
My best buy gets their ad on thursdays, of course its hard to get to see them.

And don't forget, newspaper folks have to receive the flyers in time for them to be inserted into the papers well before the time they're available for sale on Sunday. This means the inserts have to come a day or two before Sunday.
I've seen stacks of inserts at my local convenience store, usually on a Friday or Saturday, waiting for the Sunday paper to come in just so some lucky clerk can insert them Newspaper routes usually work the same way.
