Fry's has been clearing out their Monster line for a while now, but they've finally reached the "hot" range (imho)

These are beautiful speakers, and carry the THX certification. Are they any good? Dunno.

I bought the bass tower today and will try to post a review soon. The bass tower is a 12" w/ a built in 200w amp, so we'll see how tight it is. Unfortunately, the bass towers are meant to have the Monitors mounted on top, so they have connectors for them built in. If you don't have the Monitor on top, it's odd looking. I'm planning on going to Binswanger and getting a sheet of black glass cut to fit the top and glue it on, if I decide to keep it. Should look excellent.

What's the red for? No one else has posted these, and they're 1/3 of the lowest price listed anywhere. Guess I won't bother posting next time.

Winded, please, educate me. I'd love to see another THX certified 12" amplified sub in this price range, and I'm being dead serious.

Houston north store. They have one sub (and one Monitor 200 left, both open box. Haven't checked the other two, but I remember seeing some Monster THX stuff at the Clear Lake store a couple of weeks ago.

I think you are getting red because people assume these speakers are marked up to 10x their real value like everything else Monster makes - cables, surge protectors, etc.

However, I don't know if these are any good. So I will refrain for assuming that they are overpriced and not pass judgment on the deal.

Hey, I get it, I guess people here don't realize that THX certs don't get handed out lightly.

Not against the deal, but THX certs are a joke. You pay for the cert. Lots crappy equipment gets THX certs.

Not when it comes to bass management and subwoofers. Do your homework before making generalizations.

quit trying to make it look like you know what you are talking about. the bass management has in Monster subs has been scorned and ridiculed by us audiophiles since their launch. check out avsforum or audioholics forums for what the people think about monster speakers. and THX certification in general. then come into a thread like this and spout some better information than what you have been providing.
