How is this is a good deal when Best Buy has the following Deal:

Model: WFW8300SW $619.99 (Washer)
Model: WGD8300SW $683.99 (Gas Dryer)
Model: WED8300SW $629.99 (Electric Dryer)
Model: WHP1000SQ $134.99 (Pedestals)

P.S. Best Buy does not carry LAB2700MQ and according to Best Buy web page WHP1000SQ is pedestals for that washer/dryer.

There is currently a 10% off Best Buy Coupon good till the end of the month and last weekend there was 12% off coupon as well that was posted in this forum and you are going to get 2% back in the forum of rewards zone certs.

So that makes your final cost on the more expensive Gas Dryer the following:

$619.99+$683.99+134.99+$134.99=$1573.96 and that is not even counting the 10% off coupon or 12% which would reduce the price by another $157.39 or $188.87 and then you need to factor in still the 2% reward zone certs which is another $31.37 off.

So basically if you buy currently with a 10% off coupon found on this board your cost would be $1385.20 ($1353.73 if you bought durning 12% off weekend) which means Best Buy is $313.80 cheaper than Costco.

Trust me my stacked washer/dryer recently broke and I had to replace them. Currently Maytag Epic Sport Z which is the same machine is even cheaper because it is on sale at HomeDepot and has $75 rebate + $100 rebate. Even Maytag Epic at HomeDepot is cheaper than Costco deal and Epic is full size washer/dryer ie 4 CU FT Washer vs 3.7 CU Ft Washer of Sport models. and the Dryer is 7 CU FT vs 6.7.

You did not factor in shipping and installation, which is included at Costco. Also, Costco has an unconditional return policy.

Best Buy and Home Depot both have free delivery and installation and free disposal of your old appliance and unconditional return policy too. And if you spend more than $2k a year with Best Buy you are Silver Reward Zone member which entitles you to 60 return policy and 3% back on all purchases.

So again not sure what you are talking about as Best Buy is $313 cheaper and Home Depot is even cheaper after 2 rebates if you buy Maytag Epic Z which is the same machine as Whirlpool owns Maytag and both have the same specs and look identical.

Like I offered to post the receipt in that thread. I will be more than happy to post it here to prove my point.

I paid $1333.20 for both the Maytag MFW9800TQ and MGD9800TQ which are bigger models last week when they were on sale. Which is $370 cheaper than Costco for better machines. And I am still getting over $40 in RZ certs as last weekend was triple point weekend too.

PS if I could double Neg your post above I would because it most retard post I have seen in a while considering on both Best Buy and Home Depot web page there is a big banner saying "FREE DELIVERY AND INSTALLATION ON ALL APPLIANCES OVER $399" which means you basically did not even bother looking at either web page and just assumed both charged.

Do some checking around for reliability of these units.
Haven't done any research recently, but the front loaders from Whirlpool
(who is also Maytag) had some real leak issues and recurring repairs 2-3 years ago.
Can anyone say "5yr extended warranty"?

While I am not claiming they are best Machines around I know my last Maytag Neptune which was a front loading machine and had 3 recalls and was rated very poorly lasted me 12 years. And because I had the old stack unit which was 1 piece I could not just replace the washing machine. And the repair quote was $631 to repair the washing machine which I thought was ridiculous when a new machine cost basically the same thing on sale. So I choose to replace the pair with stack unit that consisted of 2 machines with a stack kit. So if the washing machine broke again in 10-12 years I would just need to replace 1 machine and not both again.

Now I understand when the neptune came out Maytag was still it own company so reliability on maytag may or may not have changed for the better or worse.

The units I had before the Neptune is over 20 years old and still works just fine as I gave it to my house keeper when I moved as I did not have room for side by side units. Those units were maytag as well but I do not think the newer units last as long as the older units.

Dolmar - I'm not saying the OP deal is great but was anyone able to get the price you did? I was shot down every where trying to get BB or anyone to match it. Plus your Maytag deal did not include pedestals--did you add that cost in? The best any of us that were working the deal and communicating with each other in PM was $1510 and that didn't include pedastals and we had to wait on HD GCs for part of that 'savings'.

Re: HD Free installation and haul away - does not include gas dryers, and you have to pay for it and wait for an (up to) $79 rebate to come to get it for 'free'.

I haven't checked the dryer yet, but the pricing you quoted is not for comparable model sizes.
The washer you are pricing is a 3.4 cu in. w/7 cycles the OPs is 3.7 w/9 cycles, the pedastal for OP is 13 inches and BB is 10. Maybe 3 inches to you doesn't matter but it would to me.

I ordered the Whirlpool Duet yesterday from Costco, not knowing of this Maytag BB offer. The Costco models come with a 2yr Full Warranty (3 years since I used my AMEX card). The Maytag from BB only comes with a 1 year limited offer (2 if AMEX is used). Each has their perks, but I went with Costco I guess more for the simplicity of the offer (not having to wait on various gift cards and rebates). Only minor glitch for me, is LIPA's (Long Island Power Authority) $50 rebate program. Though the washer model qualifies, Costco is not listed as a participating retailer. Minor issue. Either why, I'm "finally" retiring a Maytag washer and Whirlpool dryer. One is ~30yrs old, while the other is ~31. Forget which is older. Only major expense was changing the timer in the washer, and I did that myself. My brother bought a Whirlpool front loader (I think about a year ago), and has had no problems at all. Though Costco will install the new washer (w/ pedestal) and haul-away the old one, they won't install a new gas dryer nor haul-away the old one. I think they'll put it in place (w/ pedestal) and that's it. Maybe if I already had it unhooked for them. We'll see. If not, I'll leave it in front of my house, and someone will grab it within a day or two (without having to call the town).

The price I put in my OP in this thread was Best Buy current sale price. No price match need or anything. It included the Pedestals and delivery and installation just like Costco except BB had a different model for the pedestals which is the same model listed on Whirlpool web page so I assume Costco pedestals were not even genuine Whirlpool parts or Costco has a special version made of the Washer/Dryer and Pedestals so price match and comparing is impossible.

Home Depot does not sell Whirlpool for whatever reason but Maytag Epic Z which is the same machine has 2 rebates totaling $175.

Naw I did not buy Pedestals personally as I stacked my units but I just posted the price to show as comparison as Epic is more expensive machine to begin with anyways.

I am not sure if anyone else was able to get Best Buy to Price Match HD after rebate price but in my original post I never mentioned price matching anyways.

Well then Best Buy does not carry the same models.

Best Buy has this other option of Whirlpool Sport.

WFW8400TW $719.99 and is Whirlpool - 3.7 Cu. Ft. 10-Cycle Ultra Capacity Washer - White which is not the same either.
LEW0050PQ $539.99 and is Whirlpool - 3.8 Cu. Ft. 11-Cycle Electric Dryer - White

Best Buy nor HD carry 13 inch Pedestal either. So unless you are claiming the pedestal are worth over $500 more than 10 In or some reason Costco models are better. I do not understand.

Actually, after some searching, the Costco pedestals are model# LAB2700MQ which is Whirlpool. However, looking at a couple of sites, one said it's discontinued and replaced with model# WHP1500SQ (selling for $219.00 - on this particular site). Amazon says model# LAB2700MQ is discontinued as well. So now I wonder which one I'll be receiving. Will give Costco a call Monday and find out.

I assume that is why Best Buy does not carry the exact washer/dryer either? The model Costco is selling is also discounted too? And the newer model is cheaper than older model with slightly different specs?

Not the Gas Dyer with matching washer is smaller then Costco model and electric one pair is the same size and Best Buy models are current models listed on Whirlpools web page.

How does the extra year of warranty work with AMEX card? Do we have to make a call or is it automatic?

I think I am going to go with Costco. Extra warranty should be making up the price difference.

have the full size whirlpools and i love the way they wash, have had 2 repairs done in last year, door lock, and control board on the washer

if i am going to blow 2k on a washer dryer set, i wouldn't get the sport, even with a family of 3, i enjoy the full size loads. 15 bath towels, no problem.
imho

You can make the same thing with a piece of plywood , cut into proper size and doubled with a 4x12 piece of lumber cut into 3 pieces as supports (which HomeDepot will cut for free).
