Incredible deal for flashlights with very bright Luxeon K2 LED's. $30 for twinpack...one large, one small.

Larger flashlight has two power levels, 160 lumens and 140 lumens and runs of 6 AAA's. Smaller one is 140 lumens and runs on 3 AAA's. Claimed 6 hour run time for smaller light, 12 hour for larger one (must be assuming use of lower power.)

Recommend you buy yourself some of the rechargeable Eneloop packages, also at Costco, to go with them.

This is a brick and mortar deal. Couldn't find it on Dorcy's or Costco's website (Auburn Hills, Michigan store.)

Put a quick review up here.

From the OP: "This is a brick and mortar deal."

OP; Are these similar to the K2's sold at Sams Club? Specs (and price) sound the same...

After further research, yes, I think so...though I've never seen the Sam's club ones nor could I find any pics but I did find reviews that said the Sam's Club "Elements" were Dorcys. Also, from what I read, the Sam's clubs ones were only 3AAA versions rated the same. These are 3 watters...the larger one is rated to 3.9 watts...the smaller one 3 and use 3 and 6 batteries.

They use battery carriers to house the AAA's. Some people have an issue with AAA's but they are cheap from Costco, and you can use the rechargeables...the Eneloops and similar have very long shelf life...vs. typical NiMh's.

This is the first time I've seen these at a Costco store. The previous best deal on a higher output LED light was the Leatherman Monarch 500 which used a Cree LED. The Monarch was more heavy duty (machined out of stainless steel vs. aluminum) but these lights are more powerful and, of course, there are two of them.

Is one of the lights this one?

EDIT: Nevermind... slickdeals has all the info and pic here!

Slickdeals has picture...but not anymore info than I posted. So apparently they are in Michigan and California.

OP taking this too personal. I meant that SD had all the info referring to specific model. You know, a pic is worth a thousand words... goes the old saying... No need to reply, just helping out here a little!

Actually, they only give the higher power rating of the larger flashlight. I made an educated guess on the second power setting based on the runtime and because at the lower level the larger flashlight appears to be equal to the smaller one.

Does look that way.

Perhaps I was just ticked because I got a negative rating when I first posted this. Probably because I was in a hurry and didn't leave a lot of details.

I'm over it now.

I held off from negging - I'm glad you posted more specific info - thanks. I'm not big on AAA flashlights. I got rid of all my AAA nimh and not really interested in getting more. I do keep a set of 3 - for an older dorcy with an older luxeon. I mainly have cr123 and 18650 rechargeables now - with a few AA as well. Various off brands from DealExtreme and a couple fenix. My edc is a tiny little seoul semiconductor cr123 twisty that I got from DealExtreme - great light - wouldn't give anything for it. But as a plus for the dorcy stuff it's pretty well built and reliable - mine still sits on my computer desk to this day.

I also don't like AAA flashlights, the runtime is way too low. I like AA lights, because they are common and easy to get. The RCR123, CR123, 18650 perform well but are too 'specialty' for my situation. To each his own

I am occasionally tempted to get a lithium light just for the performance...
