This is basically the same as all the recent $399 deals, such as the Toshiba or Compaq. If you can skate out of taxes, this might be a better deal for many of you. Instead of waiting, I went to my local store, Gurnee, IL and they had plenty in stock, although the $399 price was not on the tag on the shelf but rang up at the register just fine.

The other free items are an option Lexmark printer, Router and Microsoft One Care (best option of the three)

Based on the replies and views, it seemed that the Compaq - Presario at Bestbuy is the best. But I don't why either.

Flip over the laptop and loosen 7 _Philips-head screws holding the panel, they don't have to come completely out, just about 5 complete turns.
Use a stiff blade and pry open left side of panel, careful not to insert more than one quarter to one half inch
Work loose the left side of panel
Slide panel towards the freed left side and clear the 5 plastic tabs on the right side of panel.

You shouldn't have to break any of the tabs. Use a very small dab of vaseline on the tabs to allow easier disassembly next time.

That was a piece of cake and I didn't feel like I was taking the whole bottom off.

All that being said, it is a decent bang for the buck and I wouldn't hesitate buying another Acer.Thanks!
