VGA7420 - a $20 promo code i found for ASUS HD4850 at Newegg.
They are offering the card at $194 + $30 MIR + $20 Promo Code = $144.
Very good deal, especially 4850 is now the king of VGA under $199.
not sure when the code will expire. Chk out with their ground shipping and u will the card on the next day.

FYI ... promo code doesn't work w/ Asus P5Q Pro combo listed w/ the card. Great deal though!

Just wondering if anyone knows how reliable the Asus rebates are? I don't recall ever having a rebate with them before.

EDIT: Nevermind, I read some of the user reviews, and one person mentioned the rebate is handled by one of the bad rebate companies.

just pulled the trigger on this one. card supposedly rocks.

Just canceled the Gigabyte for this one.
$5 less before rebate, uses the same rebate house and if it comes through it's $10 overall cheaper.
I personally like Asus better then Gigabyte as well.

Thanks OP

This suckks. I bought this for $199 + rebates. Now $194. Do they price match? Thanks.

Generally they will, although the reps are required to give you a rehearsed statement about "We don't generally do pricematches, but since you are a good customer, we will make this one-time exception."

Must...stop...buying...videocards. Got two of the VisionTek 4850's at BB when they were $150 a week or two ago. This ASUS card is almost $18 less after factoring in the extra $9 in PA sales tax at BB, and the extra 2.75% savings from LiveSearch CashBack at Newegg. Granted, there is a slightly worrisome rebate involved with the ASUS, but I'm counting on Newegg to fund it if the rebate fulfillment company turns out to be a hosebag.

ive got all my rebates from status-now. my last submission didnt show up on their site, I resubmitted the copies and got the check 2 weeks later (which was yesterday)
i might just jump on this, good deal

Anyone know if I can run two LCDs and have an HDMI output to a TV from these cards? Or do I need to wait for the ones that supposedly will have an HDMI connector integrated into the card? Has anyone seen a 4850 with integrated HDMI yet? And if so, does the HDMI replace a DVI connector or the little round one that can be used for component out?

alert mods

this unit contains 1 dvi to hdmi adapter, but you can only connect 2 units to the card, one will have to be dvi(or vga via adapter) and the other your choice of hdmi or dvi (not sure if you're asking if you can connect 2 or 3 units)
hdmi integrated or hdmi adapter will not make a difference, the dvi connectors on ATI cards have audio and video output in it, so when you connect the hdmi adapter, you will get full 7.1 surround on your HDTV as well as HD picture. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but this is what i got from my latest research.

Looking to drive two LCD monitors for working on the PC but also have a 50" HDTV in the same room connected via HDMI. I know some of the Palit nVidia 9600 cards can do this, but I am an ATI guy.

OP, how did you find the promo code?

alert mods

read the forum about all Newegg past promo codes. there are always a pattern. item + day + rebate dollar. They have the GIGABYTE offered for $20. so i guess they can offer the same discount on some other HD4850. i give it a try and work.
try it.

I have a 30" H-IPS monitor and it takes both DVI connectors to give the best resolution but boy is it worth it. The 9600 is the same as the Quadro 3700 which I have and the nVidia can't cut it right now at 2560X1600. It is better than my Quadro 4600 so you guys don't appreciate what a steal this card it. I am living for the day when it comes out in the Fire GL series.

Apparently the moderator made a mistake in a different thread, and routed that Sapphire thread to this thread.
