MoreBuyMoreSave said:Amazon had it for $40.99 (no Tax/Free shipping/No rebate) a few weeks ago. I bought it from Amazon because I'm in California and Newegg charges tax. The current Amazon price is $44.99. I know it's been 2 days since your post, but I see a WRT54G for $45, and a WRT54GL for $62. Which one did you get? Which one is recommended? What's a good cheap wireless card to go with it? |

Funny how some people are jealous of this router. Get a life already. I agree with you, but why are you only running it for 1/2 the day? |

Not a big deal, really. Just get a gigabit switch, the Trendnet 5 and 8 port models are posted here frequently, and plug it into one of the ports on the router. Put all of your Gig-E clients on the switch and they'll transfer faster amongst themselves. It's not like you're going to get gigabit speeds with a wireless peer anyway, so it's a good setup. Yes, but I don't want 2 devices to run. More mess. Just have to wait for the industry to mature this device type. |

Hi Would really help if someone could help me. I have a router (buffalo) set up as a main router and am running tomato. However, the range of the router is not the best, so i bought this router to 'extend' my range. However, while searching online i am very confused - there is wds, wireless bridge, wireless client etc etc etc... so can someone help me! please!! here is what i am looking to do - extend the range of my primary router - thats it! i wont connect any gadgets to the secondary router...its just going to stay in one corner... also - i prefer to use WEP, since i have some wireless gadgets that cant connect through WPA... thanks very much, much in advance!!! |

thanks very much, much in advance!!! This is not the best forum for your discussion. You should post you questions at the computer forum. As a senior member, you should know better. You need to setup your spare router as an access point to the main router, not as a bridge. |

for those that missed the deal, the ASUS WL-520GU is a very similar router (16MB/4MB) that also runs DD-WRT and also has a USB port to top it. It can be found for ~$45 usually at Mwave for example. Also at zzf for $40. |
