My first post... I did a search and didn't see it!

This got pretty good reviews and includes both USB the eSATA cable. Planning on using it for my HD TiVo.

The list price Buy.com shows is a joke. It might have gone for $386 more than a year ago.
This is still quite a deal. The enclosure is worth $50-75 by itself. Add the TB drive and it is a bargain.
Newegg is selling this for over $200. The only real negative is the warranty is only 1 year.

A bonus here is the internal hard drive has a 3 year warranty from date of manufacture from Western Digital.

Works great on a DirecTV HR20, HR21 HD-DVR. Plug n' Play.

The enclosure is pretty simple. Metal box with a tiny circuit board. No fan. Seemed to run a little bit too hot for my tastes when used on a DVR, and when I used it to backup my pc with the esata connection it got very hot to the touch.

Four screws and the drive falls out, so its a good deal for a 1tb western digital hard drive if the price fits. I dont think the enclosure is anywhere near as good as an antec mx-1, especially for 24x7 use.

I got it last month for $163 after rebate, which I hope I get since cavalry is supposed to have lousy rebates. It was the biggest pain in the butt rebate I've ever applied for.

Thanks iceui2, I cancelled my order and reordered using the coupon. It came out to $166.24! Also used FatCash of course!

Was considering this as an external drive for my TiVo Series3, but read up on some quirkiness with this drive that turned me off. That and the fact that it doesn't have a fan was another concern.

Ended up with an MX-1 and a WD GP drive and have had no problems at all.

What quirkiness are you referring to? With the exception of one report that I saw from back in January, all others are reporting that this has a WD GP drive in it. Theoretically, it should work the same as an MX-1 and GP drive, but without a fan.
