It's a shame the History channel don't do more programs about Hitler

Generally speaking I find the 'evil' people often more interesting and more intelligent. Most of the 'good' people just do whatever is the status quo or whatever is perceived to be the least threatening. It takes some intelligence and creativity to escape the populace long enough to be pivotal in history.

Truth be told the United States has participated in many activities that were in line with the Nazi regime but most historical books/video still can't get past their holier-than-thou attitude.

EDIT:.. heh I had populace spelled right the first time. Damn video games got me with populus on the brain.

Without getting into talk about America, etc. Which shows are very good (educational and interesting) - I'd like some of these for my kids.

When you ask, "Without getting in to talk about america", do you mean more international history? Most all of these are US History related.

I just meant to keep the conversation on what's a hotdeal - good product w/ cheap price. I saw one of the posters comparing America to Nazi Germany and thought the conversation was getting off topic.

I just want something good and educational that my kids'll be interested in.

Ah.. Ok..

I have seen quite a few of these sets on History Channel Myself. probably the most "fun" for the kids is the "presidents" one. It is very family friendly and quite entertaining. it is paced to where each president gets about 5 minutes of coverage, a little extra for some of the more notable ones. Its "up-beat" and there is a "baseball card" type recap at the end of every President that shows the highlights.

"The revolution" (the $30 one that is 600 minutes) was aired a couple of years ago and it was very high quality. It starts with America, Pre-revolution and goes in to detail on the hows & whys of the revolution. it covers the entire event with a very broad look that really is an eye opener for everyone. The accounts and re-enactments are top notch, though they do "repeat" several re-enactments over the course of the series. VERY good set, probably worth the $60 retail price on its own.

The "Conquest of america" is a little more brutal, may not be the most kid friendly, but certainly does cover the exploration of the americas quite well.

The "Civil War" set that is $30 is VERY good, in-depth and covers the topic in an entertaining way, but is quite long.

Since when does an apostrophe make a word plural?

Your right. Sorry for the incorrect Grammar.

Since when does an apostrophe make a word plural?

When the word is an acronym, an apostrophe followed by an "s" is a correct way of making the acronym plural.

that's not correct
plural of acronymn

alert mods

Notice that I said using an apostrophe is "a correct way," not "the only correct way." That was not inadvertent. There is no current universal consensus as to whether or not the apostrophe should be used to pluralize acronyms, although it appears that a plain "s" without the apostrophe is becoming the more prevalent rule. See Wikipedia article on acronyms.

Given that there is no absolutely right or wrong way to pluralize these sorts of words, I think it's both a bit arrogant and ignorant to criticize someone else for doing it one way or the other. There are hundreds, if not thousands, of posts made here each day that are more egregious examples of butchering the English language. If a post is absolute Pidgin, I might question what the author was attempting to say or ask, but otherwise, in the modern age of webspeak and texting, trying to conform spelling, grammar, and punctuation in online message boards to standards of perfection is an effort in futility.
