I prefer the Miles by Discover card (GPS deal) because of the various incentives it has in place like: 1000 miles per mo. first 12 months with monthly usage and I see they're advertising free companion air ticket. So has anyone managed to open 2 cards within 3 months without closing the earlier one. I doubt it since the mortgage meltdown is causing some credit card companies to cancel multiple cards left & right.

Same here. I didn't get immediate approval and called. The guy said 1) I am a co-singer of another discover; 2)The other card has very high limit. He asked if I will take a card with lower limit ($6k, I think). I said yes (I don't care what's the limit and will use only once anyway!) and it was approved (an confirmation email followed). Now let's see if the Nano will show up.

I have 2 discover card and I was rejected for a reason that I'll receive by mail soon... Only reason I can think of is they don't allow 3 or more cards per person as my CS is in upper-tier..

I called discover to speed up the application and was approved. The CSR did tell me that you are allowed to have a max of three discover cards.

Did you receiver a $10 CashBack award as part of the promotion with your card? I did with my Discover card from May (with the Canon camera deal). If you estimate frequent flier miles as being worth 1/2 to 1 cent each in terms of what they can be redeemed for, a $10 CashBack bonus is worth 1,000 to 2,000 frequent flier miles.

I don't know what the redemption values are but I just got my first statement and there's a paragraph there that says "...Redeem for gift cards with over 50 brand-name partners starting at 1,000 Miles. Login to Account Center at Discovercard.com or call us at 1-800-DISCOVER". So it seems as if there's extra value to be realized by maintaining purchases on the Miles Card.

Keep checking the shipping status website. You have done all you need to. You will get an email with a tracking number also when it ships.

I have had a Discover for ever, never used it.. and I got a letter a few weeks after I got my new card saying they were going to cancel my old card. If you current Discover Card is being used, they may not cancel your old card.

Thanks for the info. I haven't used my Discover in the past year or two, so it looks like there's a good chance it could be closed after all.

Actually I just realized that I haven't received any kind of notification that I signed up for this deal or that I'm associated with it in any way. That's why I'm asking. All the emails I've received are direct from Discover about signing up for the card...none from Mymp3playeroffer.com that I even applied in the first place, so pardon me if I'm curious.

A few weeks after I used the card I got email from Amazon saying that my order had been accepted, then another one a few days later from Amazon saying it had shipped, THEN one from MyDigitalOffers.com.

I would expect that if you read through this thread you will find that it is the way they work.

Thanks for the info. There's no need for the implication, I have read through this thread before. For the third time, no one has said specifically whether they received any kind of notification or not from Mymp3playeroffer.com immediately after signing up, which is usually standard across any kind of registration on the internet, whether it be basic website registrations to online purchases, which I found odd. You have answered my question though.
