Hello all,

I just found out Sansa runs an Outlet Store from their website, with what looks like some of their older players in there for super-discounted prices. Right now there are three styles (in varying sizes and storage capacities). They are -

SanDisk® Sansa® c100 Series MP3 Players

-Comes in 1GB and 2GB. Extra features include the digital FM tuner with 20 preset stations, FM 'on-the-fly' recording, voice recording, and photo thumbnail playback. Supports all major audio file formats, including Audible audio files. They come in 1GB and 2GB, and both are over 40% Off.

SanDisk® Sansa® e100 Series MP3 Players

-The line comes in two capacities: 512MB in blue ($9.99!), and 1GB in silver ($14.99).

SanDisk® Sansa® m200 Series MP3 Players

-The line comes in four capacities: Blue at 512MB ($24.99), Silver at 1GB ($29.99), and Black at 2GB ($39.99). The player can also be used as an external storage device to carry data and transfer it to another PC.

My cheap-ass refurb started to freeze all the time, I installed rockbox, and now it works again. Rockbox can raise the (almost) dead!

also only the v1 versions of those series. new ones are probably v2's while refurbs are probably v1's

You're right. Maybe I need to get a little better at searching for this stuff online.

I don't know how you can beat a $9.99 MP3 player though - http://go.ShopSansa.com/content/e100 Well, I guess $8.99 would beat it, but you get the point

I figure I'll stock up on a couple of these, and then give them away at Christmas. Maybe I'll load a pinata with them.

OH! Also, they are having a summer sale for the c200 (which Rockbox DOES support) players, using promo code "summersale" all of their c200 series (http://go.ShopSansa.com/content/c200) are 50% off.

Oh, and I know the coupon code works, it just doesn't say it works until the receipt page. That's bogus, but at least the code works!

I went all the way thru the checkout and promo code summersale is not working for me.

The discount worked for me, getting the red 2 GB c250 -

Discount (summersale) ($40.00)

That info showed on the page that asked for my credit card.

They round up with the discount too, so it's even kinda like getting 50.001 percent off

Oh, and to the sound-quality request - I use the big'ol can-style headphones most of the time, and the sound is pretty good for an mp3 player. I can't really tell the difference between mp3 players and, say, just running headphones from my computer. I'm not too discerning, though, so take it with a grain of salt.
