This is some of the worst memory available out there. It used to be high quality stuff, but since the first of the year, it's been terrible. If in doubt, read the last six months of reviews on Newegg.
I just initiated my third RMA on this product yesterday. It's either DOA or develops massive errors with a few weeks or months at best.
Crucial has discontinued production of this memory due to the high failure rate. Crucial is replacing mine with their new version:
BL12864AA106A
I should have it next week and will report back whether it's any better.

in-store pickup makes it a good deal actually, I'm gonna try one and see how these guys are. I was looking for the pc6400 version for around $20, i can always underclock these if needed.

I should have it next week and will report back whether it's any better. Please do. Let's hope that they finally reinstate the highly acclaimed D9GMH line.
I had some Ballistix memory go bad on me after a week. At first Frys tried to slip me an opened package of this memory which someone had obviously returned. They lied to me and said they "test all memory first", but I had them give me a sealed package. And that turned bad asfter a week.
I will never buy ANY "Ballistix" memory again after this - I don't care what they do.
Trust me, you do NOT want Crucial's AA1065 part unless you enjoy having it repeatedly die after only days or weeks (assuming it's not DOA to begin with).
Crucial has stopped distributing these parts and is replacing it with AA106A parts. The great prices on AA1065 parts lately is clearly an effort to purge them from the supply line.
according to newegg, the new part is using 2.0V only. It must a new version of chipset, but there is no review yetIt was added to the Newegg product line in just the past hour or two.
Anyone who has used the BL2KIT12864AA1065 part knows they are painful to touch after only a few minutes of having power applied. I'm hopeful the new BL2KIT12864AA106A part will run considerably cooler and not self-destruct like its predecessor.
I should have the new modules on Monday and hope to have a report soon thereafter.
I got the BL2KIT12864AA106A memory today to replace the repeatedly failing BL2KIT12864AA1065 memory I've been wrestling with since last December. Both sticks worked and even run reliably at 1101 Mhz. They're not significantly cooler than the previous parts even though they're 2.0v instead of 2.2v. Time will tell...
I would implore you to NOT buy this ram, it's complete crap. Had nothing but problems with it since I bought it, and there are dozens and dozens of people with the same complaint. This used to be a great deal, fast ram low price but maybe 3-4 months ago something changed it is not worth your money or your time now. Go with Gskill or patriot now.
KonKet said:How does this compare to Ballistix Tracer? The only thing different between Ballistix and Ballistix Tracer is the presence of LED's across the top of the modules. The new modules also comes in a Tracer version: BL12864AL106A
