Anyone know if this will work alongside ESET NOD32? I had issues with it conflicting with software in the past. Thanks. |

PennySaved said:I downloaded it but it will not take any of my legit email addresses to get username and password. Has anyone else had this problem? It looks like I will not be able to use this program. I wonder if this is not a way to get a person's legit emails without providing program. you need to click on the blue hyperlink part that says "create a new account" first, then it asks just for your e-mail address and emails you a password. Then you log in with email/password and type in the coupon code in the OP to get the full license version. You can then change the password to something easier to remember than the one they assigned.

Thanks OP For those not getting the password email from them after you request a new account: With my Yahoo account the password email was delayed for over 10 minutes - I suspect Yahoo was holding it back. To get around that I went back to the A2 site and selected the lost password option & the site immediately emailed me the password so I could use the coupon code. |

Try these instructions and see if it works.
http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic18610.html Yea that was one of the first things I tried and it had no affect. The guy took the 1st link off too as aparantly his tool was causing damage to people's system files. So far what I have done to slow it down is turn off system restore and installed AVG antivirus. But I can't get rid of it. I'd love whomever can challenge Vundo and win! |

Good Question! Personally, I used an email account per machine and received multiple licenses. My reasoning was that I wanted to be as legit as possible since they were giving them away. |

Symptons from a Hijackthis log: Below is an example of a Vundo infection, though there are many different filenames. O2 - BHO: (no name) - {EFCB1D95-FFF6-47BB-B6C9-61A523F04322} - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturr.dll O20 - Winlogon Notify: vturr - C:\WINDOWS\system32\vturr.dll Here is what I did to remove it.....Find out the name that it is using.....like the example above using Hijackthis. So in that case, it is using vturr.dll. Search google for the instructions on how to make a Bootable BARTPE CD. Boot from that CD, and use their file explorer tools to get to your harddrive. Just delete the file you found earlier from Hijackthis. This has worked multiple times for me.....so well in fact, that I actually made a 2gig BARTPE bootable USB Key.....and now I can carry that solution in my pocket. Not perfect, but worked for me. Whatever I was using must be pretty good (free AVG anti-spyware ..). |

I have seen hijackthis but how can I find out the name it's using? the dll that is causing you the problem will be in your windows/system32 directory. how long have you had this virus? if it's recent, which it hopefully is, it will be easy to find. your antivirus program is probably deleting the ini file but that dll file keeps putting it back. so tell us the name of those recent files. The DLL is writing files to both the windows and windows/system32 directories. in windows, it will be ini, txt, and xml files. you won't be able to delete that dll because it's running resident so your computer will tell you that it cant delete it. so you have to use some tool to delete the file before windows boots. grinder suggested BARTPE. when i had this problem, i used a program called AVENGER. it worked well. after you get rid of the dll, you still have a registry entry telling your computer to run the dll. the dll isnt there though so it cant be run, but still you should get rid of the registry entry with CCLEANER. here's a better write up of all this http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=155318 you have to be careful of course because AVENGER or BARTPE can delete files you need that windows normally doesnt let you delete. first look at your windows/system32 directory and tell us what you see. |
