I used my initial registration on the second one I installed it on and it worked great. No need to do two different registrations. I installed it on 3 PC's last night using the single registration. The registration seems to be required to create an account. Once you have the account, it can be used on multiple installations. Nice software so far. Found a couple of low risk items that Kaspersky missed. Thanks OP! |

Found 8 objects on "Quick Scan," 6 of which were medium risk, I'm sure it'll detect even more on the "deep scan." |

Thanks OP - it's a little quirky, but seems to perform thorough scan and analysis. |

Try these instructions and see if it works.

Yea that was one of the first things I tried and it had no affect. The guy took the 1st link off too as aparantly his tool was causing damage to people's system files. So far what I have done to slow it down is turn off system restore and installed AVG antivirus. But I can't get rid of it. I'd love whomever can challenge Vundo and win!

Do the three free virus scans...
Should do the trick... Thanks. I tried the symantec one posted earlier again and it keeps crashing with a C run time error and doesn't find Vundo or anything else. I'll try these three. Also last night I got another malware which I'll have to look at as well. It's one of those that pops up and tells you that you have a virus on your computer where it's the virus itself. It' tries to get you to buy their product and even messes with your URL. |

It's best to try tech support sites instead of here to get more detailed help instructions.

I am in the same boat. I have restoed my HP dv5000 laptop 3 times in last 2 months. It keeps coming back. I suspect that it is residing in the recovery parition D: also it is smarter than microSoft as it deletes all the RESTORE points. Microsoft SUX. they should somehow safeguard against that atleast.
Please anyone has any success with this VUNDO please share. I appreciate all the attention. For Hijackthis I am a little confused. I can run it, look at the log file, etc, but what is it telling me? It doesn't seem to identify (this is malware). I see plenty of people post their hijackthis log file on the web. ie http://www.geekstogo.com/forum/Virtumundobegone-exe-t193593.html&pid=1204918 this guy never got an answer. |

hijackthis.de That great and easy to read. Only thing it doesn't do is fix it for you. I went through it and removed about a dozen keys that looked suspicious. Thanks loads! My AVG doesn't say anythign about having a firewall. I wonder if I do. |

You need to google vundo, and there is a small program there for removal of this malware. Had problem with it on neice & nephews computer sometime last year. |

Are you deaf from shooting your 44magnum? And if so, you still don't need to shout as we are not. Yea. Please remove your caps lock key. Btw, what is VAV Rogue Antivirus? and what's wrong with Microsoft products? EDIT: Nm. A quick google reveals that VAV Antivirus tries to pass itself off as a Microsoft product. It is in fact spyware, and is also called Vista Antivirus. |

Are you running a separate virus scanner? I am running this alongside Kaspersky Anti-Virus. That may be the cause of the warning. |
