I'm trying to maximize this with the $5 gc, but I've got myself all confused. Obviously the best deal is 15 off 50 for 30% if you add the 5 gc, it is 20 off 50 for 40%. Now, if I purchase 5 off 25 and get a gc for $5 it still adds up to 40% and I can do it twice. purina one is the only food listed which I would buy. Did I forget anything? would one scenario add up better than another?

PETsMART will let you stack coupons, even these. I usually spent well over $200 when I get these coupons, and they take 4 of the $15 off in one purchase PLUS any manufacturer coupons, so you can buy as many bags of food as you want, and just stack the coupons.
One day I was in there and my total was $167. After these coupons and manufacturer coupons, I walked out of there spending $80. The guy behind me was like "whoa!". I handed him my leftover coupons. Now, couple that with the $5 food rebate and buying PETsMART gift cards at 80% of face value on cardavenue.com and you end up saving a heck of a lot!!

Just make sure they take off their coupon FIRST if you're barely over the required purchase amount (and you have other coupons). Some of the less bright cashiers will scan the mfr coupons first then claim you don't have enough to use their own coupon.
thanks OP. might go on Sunday to get kitty food... by the way, not sure if you noticed, but in-store prices are often a few bucks higher than their web-store prices. I asked their customer rep about this and he said you could price-match if you bring a printout of the webstore price.
My PETsMART in E Greenbush, NY has 5-lb bags of Science Diet Nature's Best with rebate coupons attached, for full reimbursement. Send in the rebate form and the 5lb bag is free, or buy a larger bag and get back $12.99. You need to submit the form, register receipt and upc symbol. One rebate per name, address and household.
You can also get a $3 off coupon at the Hill's website.
