There were some concerns as to the authenticity of the cards sold on Amazon Marketplace. I contacted Sandisk with pictures of the card I received and they confirmed the card to be authentic. See my post on page 2. I apologize to everybody for declaring the card I got to be counterfeit.
I was looking for a micro SDHC card for my new AT&T tilt phone. The best price I found for a 8GB card was on Amazon.
There are a bunch of sellers, the one that comes up is not the cheapest. Go through the other used & new options. Go down to the list past the Featured Merchants. Currently there are two sellers that sell for $35.38 shipped. Based on the ratings all the sellers seem to be reliable. I got the card two days ago and already have <50 MB free space left on it. It came with an SD card adapter in bulk packaging (so not warranted by Sandisk as new). I mentioned the deal here, but then thought this may deserve its own thread. Besides, I guess it was time for me that I posted a deal
.
Edit: Let me give some extra information I got during my research. I was looking for the largest capacity card. It looks like Sandisk is very close to releasing their 16GB micro SDHC card to be the first. They originally announced it for June, then delayed to July, and still there are no signs of it. The rumor is that they are trying to get rid of their inventory of 8GB cards before they release the 16GB one. It does make sense as there are tens of sellers selling 8GB Sandisk micro SDHC cards for less than $40 dollars shipped while any other brand seems to be at least $10 more expensive.
Edit 2: This is a class 4 card by the way, but it appears to be much faster than that. I copied a 260 MB file to the card at ~11MB/s and read it back at ~15 MB/s.
Edit 3: This is the direct shipped price, there are no rebates involved if anyone is wondering.
Edit 4: Added fake warning.
Edit 5: Added Sandisk confirmation that the card is authentic and updated the speed test results in Edit 2.
