I just received mine a couple of days ago. I also had paid a few dollars more, so I'll have to call for price correction tomorrow.
Here are my impressions:
1) It's bigger than I had expected.
2) The handle is difficult to grasp to pick the thing up to roll it around (bad positioning). There is nowhere to put your fingers underneath it - it rests directly on the floor.
3) There is no handle latching mechanism. This means that it is just about impossible to maneuver the duffle BACKWARDS since that motion only makes the handle retract!
4) The canvas material seems durable - no crappy vinyl material.
5) There is nothing keeping the main top compartment from crushing the bottom compartment.
6) Having said that, that there is a bottom compartment is a somewhat thoughtful addition.
7) The handle setup is very flimsy - it is too easy to twist. This could be a problem since the bag is fairly large. Large volume-->heavy weight-->broken handle?
8) It's not a bad value if you KNOW what you are getting and have reasonable expectations.
9) This bag could never retail for more than $20, IF THAT.
[EDIT: 10) Almost forgot to mention: the duffle will not stand up on one end (oriented with handle sticking up) but instead tips over.
(I think it's a decent value at $7 for many applications, just not as serious/everyday luggage.)]
I'm using it to store craft supplies at home right now. A large plastic scrapbooking container (14x14?) fits nicely in the bottom compartment. I would not use this as luggage.
