It sounds like maybe part of what you're suggesting is a way to recognize members' overall contributions? For example, maybe they weren't the OP, but they had a lot of great positively rated replies. Which we absolutely want to do! We're just not there. Yet.

The Hot Deals Leaderboard is intended to directly recognize, reward, and encourage posting hot deals. Which is certainly a much more limited scope than recognizing our most valuable members site wide. There are *many* more ways to positively contribute as an outstanding member than just posting Hot Deals, and we'd like to find the best ways to reward them all... and this seemed like a good starting place.

Indeed my point. It will be certainly nice to recognise fellow members who put efforts to add constructive comments to deals and discussions whether they are the OP or not.

Also, encouraging posting is good thing so long as to the quality of the post remains unchanged or gets better. If we simply get too many posts of no value, that would be very disappointing and potentially harmful to the community. As a member last thing I want to do is to miss a good post simply because there are 50 other ones to shuffle through. Quality is always better than quantity. JMHO.
