Why would you need the site specific coupon code if you're using the DTV coupon? It seems like Meritline is not an authorized retailer for the DTV coupon and is somehow getting re-imbursed thru a third party. I'd be careful.

if you have the coupon codes you'll only get charged athe $12.99, not sure I follow what your concern is. I'd let Meritline worry about getting reimbursed as long as you are charged the right amount.
No analog passthrough. Sorry not a good deal compared to any other box.
Is this a good converter?

Artec T3A Pro Digital Converter Reviews, Ratings, and Comparisons
Overall Rating: A-
Picture Quality Rating: After reviewing the Artec T3A Pro Consumer Reports concluded that its picture quality was very good but also a slight step below that of other boxes that had been tested. The Artec T3A Pro digital broadcasting picture quality is an above average upgrade from that of analog TV and slightly below DVD quality. The picture quality for the Artec T3A Pro is comparable to that of the Philco TB100HH9 and the Magnavox TB100MW9.
Audio Quality Rating: A comparison of the Artec T3A Pro's sound quality with other analog digital TV converters revealed that it provides excellent sound quality. The sound quality for this one is as good as any converter box Consumer Reports tested it and it is clearly way better than that of analog TV.
Product Features Comparison: The Artec T3A Pro provides users with an above average program guide that shows the program title, total run time for the current show, and total run time for the next show. There is no aspect ratio button on the remote or converter box which means that users will have to use the setup to set the aspect ratio. This digital TV converter is the first one that Consumer Reports reviewed that has the auto aspect ratio function. With this digital TV converter users can also either individually set channels or use to auto scan function. It also lets users manually set channels but using on the screen signal strength meter. Finally it has its own settings for contrast, brightness, and hue. The closed captioning function of this digital converter allows users to change the font style, font color, and font size.
The Artec T3A Pro does not come with a universal remote, analog pass through, or A/V cables.
Overall the Artec T3A Pro is a very good converter box. It has a lot of features that other analog to digital converters do not have and it is priced out at a reasonable amount of $55. The Artec T3A Pro is a TV converter box we would recommend to anyone because of its wide array of features, high quality picture, and excellent sound quality.
The Gold Standard still seems to be the Zenith DTT901.
If you have an Entertainment Book and you can find a Radio Shack that has one in stock, you can get it for $59.99 - $10.00 ($10.00 off $40.00 Ent Bk Coupon) - $40 (Gov't Coupon) = $10.00 + local sales tax.
Hey mod I just posted a good deal for a Insignia digital converter box at BB and it's gone. What happend?
First, this is a good but not great DTV box. Second, it is cheaper at digitalstar. It is only $10.49 shipped for one or $17.90 for two when using the same government issued coupons.
i would think this is a good deal for those that need convertors for a bunch of tv's and are exceding the govt. coupon limit.

The Zenith 901 is good. I wish they would have added a S-Video port. There are some with s-video ports but they reviews are kinda mixed. The Zenith 901 is a updated version that fixed the bugs of the 900 and added analog passthrough.
Would someone be nice enough to explain analog passthrough and the significance of it?

Since the Zenith does not have s-video I would not call it a gold standard.

Yea the Zenith 901 is the best one for the money right now. It does not have s-video (its only real short coming IMO)
The 901 is the updated version over the 900.
Circuit City and Radio Shack has the 901 for $59.99 before coupon.

Just means that you can watch analog channels with this box hooked up. It is ok now as there are still analog channels and soem stations are either running low power on their HD tower or nto even running HD yet.
But next year when analog is dead for the most part it should not be an issue anymore.

no, but you are the one telling everyone, too lazy to post a link? That's a basic FW courtesy thing.
