The box is good. I am using it with a paper clip as per OP, right now. But the store is a different story. Went to a BB. Refused to take their 10% USPS coupon, saying I already have a good deal with $40 off coupon, but took $20 reward coupon. It reduced the price to $39.99. Now, the $40 coupon applied only to $39.99. Had to pay $3.50 tax on a cc. What the hell. Thanks god there were no tax on the reward, which is another $1.75 off.
Umm, how is this a hot deal? That's the normal price for the box. I bought it several weeks ago, and it is just okay.

Because if your card is about to expire this and the RS box are probably the best (of the attainable) boxes out there. And NOBODY is having a sale on their boxes. I never said it was hot. I hate when people put that in their title. Let the people decide that.

OMG, I can't believe you people. This is the "Hot Deals" forum. This is not "Hot" and it is not a "Deal." The only deal is getting the government voucher, which I used to get mine BTW. It is just an average box - you can read my review on Best Buy's site.
This is not a hot deal at all. You can get the same OEM by Zenith DTT900 or DTT901 at CircuitCity for the same cost.

It is available at digitalstar.com, but I am not sure if it is better than Zenith/Insigna/Digital Stream from the same OEM.
This is a rebranded Zenith DT901. It is confirmed that the DT901 fixes the audio chirping problem of the DT900. Since this is the newer Insignia with Analog Pass Through, like the DT901, I am guessing the audio problem got fixed.
Messsage board here about all kinds of converter boxes and users experiences with them.
Target has had one for $49.99, i forget what brand.

People are buying these at Sears stores now in some areas. The DTVPAL has timers...I don't think the Zenith/Insignia does. If you're going with the Zenith, get the 901...not the 900.
