dslrSearcher said:Found one SV811 at a local target in MA, didn't scan in aisle scanners, showed up as salvage with employee scanner. After a few managers, they sold it at last sale price of ~$75, but wouldn't budge on going to $37. Still a decent deal, but not sure if I'll keep it.Been there, done that. The only way I ever got them to go to a lower price was IF I had already bought one at the lower price from another Target and had the receipt to show them. |

Not really clearance, but free is free... Target in Austin Texas has 10 for 10 Sobe Life Water, each has a BOGO coupon that can be used the same trip, AND if you buy 10, target should issue a $5 GC at checkout for your next trip. I have not tried more than 10 at a time to see if they issue multiple GCs, but a heckuva deal at Free when th GC kicks in the next day. ~Sobe Life water, 10 for $10, BOGO coupon taped to them, $5 GC w/ purch of 10 = free (not clearance but free is better than 90% off)~ |

that $17 GE Thomson bluetooth phone adjunct Gateway device i picked up today is pretty cool. only thing that sucks is that it doesn't ring all of your phones when your cell phones ring (only the cellphone thats incoming rings?!) not the cordless phones i have plugged into the unit. After using it for a week i may actually get one of their integrated systems with DECT phones. works great with my mogul and centro (sero). if the pots line rings it does ring all the cordless phones. now i can put those weekend/night minutes to use. you just dial #1#phonenumber# and it routes to cell phone 1 and #2#phonenumber# and it routes out of cell phone 2. i saw a few 2GB CF's but that pricing is silly. Alot of summer stuff on sale too (Atlantic Station target) |

Update on the Sobe Life Water - they pulled the coupons off of them at the local store. I have not checked any of the other 5 around me yet, but I suspect that when I got a batch of "free" stuff, some alarm went off somewhere in the cashier's mind... |

I am quickly beginning to see Target as a Best Buy-style operation which is full of crap when it comes to these clearance items. I had been tracking the newly reduced to $37.54 Kodak Digital frame mentioned in these pages. I went to a local Long Island Target store when they first went on clearance and saw that there were only about 5 left. I put one aside, in a most-conspicuous place mind you, and would come in every week or so to check up on it. I followed it through its reductions to $104, and then to $75, and I was truly excited when I saw that it had come down to $37. After being out of NY for two weeks, I decided to go Target to finally purchase the frame, fully expecting it to have been sold, since it was "hidden" behind the newer version of the same Kodak frames. When I arrived this evening and saw it still on the shelf, I was over-joyed, thinking that I was about to score a FW bargain! However, my joy turned to concern and then anger when I checked the price and it came up "not in the system," and when the customer service desk told me that they could only sell it to me for its last "open" sale price, which was $74.98, despite the fact that they looked it up in the system and noted that there were two other stores in the area which each had 1 frame, and which had a "lower price" that they could not disclose to me. WTF?!?!?!?!? The CS rep's eyes lit up when I came over with the frame and when I asked her to check the price, she did a double-take, and walked away. She then came back with another scanner and told me that it was priced at $74.98, regardless of the fact that the other stores had it listed for less. Unfortunately, they cannot match other Target store's pricing, so I would have to go to the other store if I wanted the frame at the "lower" price. I've read all the posts about this, but it still seems to be a crock of BS to me! Target and BB are not independently owned and operated, and as such, pricing, especially clearance pricing, while determined by store inventory, is not set at a local level. The manager told me that the prices are system-wide (whatever that means), but that he could not match another store's price, especially since this item was no longer listed in his inventory. What the hell does that mean? If corporate sets the price, you have to honor it, no? Same with BB! I know I'm just a super-disgruntled FW bargain hunter at this point, mainly because I've been burned at BB, Target (and Staples made me buy $250 worth of extra junk before the associate sold me the $350 Acer Laptop), but there has to be a way to address this! I've complained to BB corporate and Staples corporate, but I know it falls on deaf ears, so I'm not going to bother complaining to Target (not that it would matter), but does anyone have a suggestion/solution to this? I know if I go back to Target tomorrow, the frame will be long gone, purchased by the same CSR or store manager who told me it couldn't be reduced anymore. Any thoughts? I can't be the only one pissed about this..... can I? |

target clearance deals are ymmv. different targets have different prices on clearance items. for an item to be marked down, their pricing scanner needs to at least scan 1 of those items so it can be marked down. it is possible that other customers bought the other 4 from your local target at $75, and since you hid the other one, that Target that you went to was unable to scan it to mark it down to 75% ($37.50). Target does not match other clearance deals from other Targets, but once in awhile you might get very lucky. I have found a couple items that were "Item information not found" at one Target, but I have the receipt from another local Target that I purchased the same item within a reasonable time frame and told the manager I bought the same item at this location Target and they match it (very ymmv). good luck with the rest of your Target clearance hunting |

I can't be the only one pissed about this..... can I? What are you going to complain about - that you hid an item, thereby depriving Target of a chance to sell it at a regular price, and now want to buy it for a lower price? I am all for bargain hunting, but people somehow have the idea that stores are in the business of selling things at a loss. Target sets clearance prices based on demand at individual stores. Just because it is selling for a lower price in a different store doesn't mean it will sell for that price in your store. |

I agree with the previous poster. Hiding the item is wrong--very wrong. Red for you. |

Target has the right to have whatever policies they chose so long as they don't violate any laws. As far as I know, there is no law saying that a business must charge the same thing in every store or honor a single price in every store. Accept this and enjoy the hunt. But hiding, conspicuous or not, cheapens the hunt. IF you really wanted the item, and not just to re-sell for a profit, you should have paid the offered price. Technically, they aren't even supposed to sell it once it goes "salvage" so they were doing you a favor. |

Went to see the target near me has that Kodak picture frame, but the CSR told me that they have discontinued it. Went into Mens clothing section and saw some Merona Polo Ultimate t-shirts for $1.84, and similar from cherokee at $6.48 and $7.48, found it decent enough.Others can check if they want these t-shirts, the Merona Polo looks a good deal at such a low price. |
