Pretty hot deal and good assortment of product.
Recertified CyberPower UPS Battery Backups.
All are about 50% less or more than new units.
There is shipping cost from $10-20 but you still
will save alot of money compared to the price
of new ones plus the shipping on them. No one ships
heavy UPS systems for free.

Good prices, but run times are not great.

and a REFURB.! Still a good deal OP! TY!

Actually a refurbished or re certified would help the title!

omg runtimes even for the 1500VA suck!

Runtimes:
Entry-level PC with 19" LCD (150W) - 31 minutes
Mid-range PC with 19" LCD (300W) - 16 minutes
Performance PC with 19" LCD (500W) - 9 minutes

i had an APC Smart-UPS 1400VA that lasted 3hrs on an entry level pc!

too bad the battery died after 6yrs, and the new battery i bought caused the UPS to catch on fire

nowadays, it's more cost efficient to buy a portable gas generator (1 gallon tank) for $125.

Yes, there is a difference, but it would still be helpful if you put "recertified" in the title. Many people won't touch either recerts or referbs, no matter the reason for the initial rejection. By placing it in the title, you save people time who would otherwise not waste their time by opening and reading through the post.

What? Your gas generator kicks in when the power flickers? Cause my computer not rebooting when the power goes out is the advantage I see. Having to go turn on the generator kinda kills that.

my ? is - how good is this brand / comparing to APC for example?

OP, I have to ask, (and be honest), do you work for Cyberpower? Because every single one of your posts on FW has been for a deal of their UPS units. Or perhaps you work for the company that refurbs these units?

Don't get me wrong, the deals seem decent, but surely you understand I'm a little suspicious...

Everyone who just loves to put negative comments on post and the best you could come up with was bad run times please read this.
The run times for these Home/Small Office units should research before
you just post stuff you actually know nothing about. Just like any other battery there are optimized maximum run times then there are actual.
A standard 1500 VA from any vender will have about a 15 minute run time.

APC link.... run time @ half load is 13 min
APC Specs

Tripplite link.... run time @ half load is 13 min
TrippLite Specs

CyberPower link.... run time @ half load is 11 min
CyberPower Specs

If anyone thinks that a UPS will get 3 hours run time, all you better have plugged in is your iPod.

Now at "optimized" run times all of these will state that they get an hour or so.
But with any computer plugged in dont expect more than 20 min.

Just in case there are some hard core critics and spammers that like to argue or people that just are lonely and bored at home with nothing else to do but put remarks on postings when they dont know WTF they are talking about please check out this link.

APC Smart-UPS 5000VA 208V Rackmount/Tower Retail $2875.00!!!!!!!!!!!!
this unit only get about 30min run time at half load!!!!!!!!!!!
link
APC VERY HIGH END UNIT

So next time when you respond to a posting make sure you are stating facts... not just what you "think" is right.

I've got a 1500VA Cyberpower here, and it's been rock solid for 4 years. It'll still power all 3 of my PC's for about 30 minutes. In the past 6 months I've had 4 APC's die on me. Granted, those APC's were lighter units (850VA and lower), but with every one of them, after a few months they started dying on me. I'm sure the large commercial APC units are still great, but their small home grade units suck.

No, I do not work for a UPS company. I just really like cyberpower products. I have always bought there products and know that there great quality. I just really dont like people who put negative comments on post when they dont even know what there talking about. I am not talking about you. Your question was valid. I am just a new member trying to find my way. Thanks for any rep points I can get.

Thanks dirtytexasboy! Just ordered the 1285. I need it for my new gaming rig, old one won't even keep my computer on during a test.

Don't be cheap and go for the max VA. Sux that the battery dies in 1 or 2 years. Also these UPS consume power too even when it's fully charged and nothing plug into it. Uses about 30Watt or so.

I like the 1285VA with the LCD display. Does anyone know how it would compare to the tall skinny white APC RS 1500that's often posted as a hot deal? Mine is a few years old now so maybe switching it out (to the 1285VA) would be smart. I remember people posting here or on AT that only the more expensive APC's (ie. not mine) protect from surges in both directions (under and over surge). Sorry I can't remember the exact details. How about the Cyberpower?

TTM77 said:Don't be cheap and go for the max VA.
Your sentence as stated says you're cheap if you buy the max VA.

alert mods

you said "no one ships heavy ups systems for free" - if you buy from Circuit City, they ship them free if over $24. I think Staples and other office supply stores will if over their minimum for free shipping.

alert mods

in for the 550va and the 900va- $11.01 to ship total!

thx!!

Does the 3 year warranty also cover the battery?

alert mods

TexasBoy you have NO idea what you are talking about!!

Although manufacturers push the Va ratings of their UPSs, it is the Watt capacity that matters. There are 1100Va 700W and 1200Va 950W UPSs. Guess which one has almost double the runtime with the same devices connected??

Half-load and full-load refer to the Watts your devices are pulling. So yes, even 'modest' UPSs can actually run a 400W PC for a couple of hours easily.

The APC Smart-UPS 5000VA that you mention is a 4,000 Watt UPS. It's half-load is 2,000 Watt which is normally 3x Servers + NAS + Router + 2x Switches + Monitor. In THAT case it will 'only' run 30 mins with a half-rack full connected to it. I should know as a Network Administrator that's the crap I deal with every day.

UPSs in big businesses are supposed to be for very short-term power out and power regulation. Home UPSs people expect them to run longer but then you have to over-double the Watts necessary.

CyberPower is well known for producing Cheap UPSs since they underpower them. I personally like Opti-UPS as I have never had any problems with them and they are a little cheaper than APCs which are the best known brand - and produce great UPSs too
