The real CD version is also $6.99 with free shipping with Prime or $25 order. No compression and no DRM either .

Some people I know are done buying and ripping CD's and are only buying digital music online. And, the music on CD's is still "compressed," just not as much as mp3's. So far, the 256kbps compression on these Amazon mp3's sound pretty darn good. CD's also suffer from "dynamic range compression" by the sound engineers -- which is not related to space compression.

Oh, and if you download the album, there is no shipping charge, no need to buy $18 bucks of other merchandise to get free shipping and no waiting for the CD to arrive at your home In this day and age of immediate gratification, downloading music has its advantages.
