I'll chime in here. For soldering work that goes anywhere beyond say, connecting one lug and having your work look like you used a 2.95 iron to do it, this is a QUALITY iron (OK, "soldering station"), and after you use it you will wonder how you did without it for so long.
I recently decided to build a solar panel, and probably themost dauntin part of the project was the delicate and fragile nature of solar cells. I broke a bunch and had one heck of a time attaching the tab wires. Then I spoke to an electronics guy who asked me about the tools I was using. He pointed me at this iron, taught me proper soldering technique, and viola! Not easy, but not seemingly impossible either.
