Nice list...especially useful if you're planning on calling his Holiness a lot

isn't FW CashBack ($65) better than this? if you can still use that coupon and also get FW CashBack of $65, then this is an ultimate deal and I'll even vote for your Tshirt if confirmed

FW $65 CashBack is in addition to the above offer, i.e., you get $65 from FW, $25 prepaid card and first month free from Lingo . Contract seems to be 12 months and a $59.95 disconnect fee applies if cancelling early.

If Customer subscribes to a residential calling plan, and cancels the Service for any reason or for convenience within twelve (12) months of the Activation Date. Customer will be charged a disconnect fee of $59.95 per account (the "Disconnect Fee").

I have Lingo and it's great. Voice quality is good. When I call Europe it's like calling next door.

FW's Cash Back of $65 is a good deal. The promotion code may void the Cash Back though.

Edit: The monthly charges will be $27.xx after adding junk fees. They also have $195/yr for US and Canada plan.

yeah thats what I am worried. its happened to me before... $65 is a lot more than the $25 AMEX offer. can a FW staff please confirm the deal so I can signup?

Hello all!

We've contacted our Lingo representative. Short answer - the $25 AMEX card will not negate any commissions earned.
This means that as long as you do indeed follow normal Cash Back procedures, you will be able to get Cash Back along with the AMEX Card..

If you have any other questions, please let us know!

I had Lingo many years back when I tried my first VOIP. It was okay and prompted me to cancel my land line. The quality has dropped badly that I had to cancel and reversed back to land line (plus cell phone) after above a year. I use an internet company for oversea calling now since it's not too expensive. I hope they have improved their quality since then. I am still not too excited about VOIP. If your internet is down (who hasn't), the phone is gone. What about emergency?

I would advise that people stay away from Lingo . We had them and had nothing but problems...dropped calls, poor voice quality, horrible customer service (out of a call center somewhare in India), inaccurate billing plus a 12 month committment. Cancel early (even with all the issues we had) they charge a disconnect fee.
Poor service and quality are never a bargain...no matter what the price is!

Cheap prepaid cell phone. $40-$80 a year, or less. 500-1000 min/yr. Tmobile. Had one for years.

I smell ad...

I use italkBB, but we primarily call China, it's all the same price pretty much, but the good thing is if you have relatives in china, they give you a local number in china that people call dial into and it would cost them what a local telephone call would cost.

My Packet8 contract is coming to an end and I'm really looking to dump Packet8 ASAP! All my calls have echo problems and Packet8 keeps blaming my ISP's response time. Funny, I never ANY quality issues with SunRocket.

Is Lingo better? How would you compare it to Packet8?
