Is this for a permanent domain? or do I have to re-register it after a period of time?

KayK said:Is this for a permanent domain? or do I have to re-register it after a period of time? Most (if not all) domains are maxed out at 10-year registrations; owners can renew at any time as long as they do not have more than 10 years at any given time. Not having looked into the specifics of this offer, I doubt very much that this offer is for anything close to the maximum 10 years. Many of the "free" registrations that I have seen are for a one-year registration -- with the "REGULAR" (read: exorbitant) pricing in the subsequent years.

One exception does come to mind is the Microsoft free domain offer; a domain that I registered through them has been going for a couple of years now.

UPDATE: see bottom of the link in OP *Applies to one, 1-year .COM, .NET, .ORG, .US, .BIZ, .INFO, .NAME, and .MOBI Top-Level Domains exclusively. Registration also includes automatic opt-in to additional promotional offers from GoDaddy.com.

glad i got mine, they just changed it a few minutes ago, no more instant codes, now you have to wait for an email. Not sure if they will even send anymore out.

I'd stay away from GoDaddy even if it was free. They don't deserve anyone's business.

See http://nodaddy.com/ for more details. Horrible horrible company.

nomenclature: Interesting, i'll have to check that site out when I have more time.

I'll take the free domain anyway, because I was on the fence about paying for one through GoDaddy.

Thanks OP.

Got my e-mail, but code won't work at checkout. I am logged into my existing account. Was this for new Go Daddy Customers only? Anyone else having this issue?

The code worked last night with existing accounts when they gave out the code instantly. Maybe they invalidated a lot of them by now.
