If prices are falling like this in the summer, what can we expect for Black Friday?

Black fridays rarely have name brand LCDs for sale. They will be mostly off brands like westinghouse and vizios. IMHO, those will be under 1k for a 52" on BF.

I don't think the prices will go down much....Instead we will see next generation LCDs with improved technology in the same price range and bigger screen TVs will get affordable....

lol @ Vizio and Westinghouse being "off brands." Vizio is the #1 selling LCD in the US, and Westinghouse is in the top 5 (according to NPD Group/Retail Tracking Service).

Well, what I mean by off brands is not being one of the top quality LCD manufacturers when compared to Sony, Samsung, Sharp, Mitsubishi. They are best selling because of their pricing.

Depending on who you believe, we can expect to see falling prices in everything but food and gas until the economy turns around. With so many people getting squeezed, they are spending on only what they have to.

Whatever you call it, they both are 2nd tier(or lower), and of course sell so well because they are cheap in every sense of the word, but obviously have their places in the market.

Gas is already falling, but for how low... and how long..

Ha ha ha.......so close to my range of $1500 but no 120mhz..... keeps me hopeful. And Gas is already falling, wait till someone really starts going towards alternative energy source then it will really come down. Or economy going furthur down and even more people ditch SUVs and driving for smaller cars or mass transit....that will bring prices down too.

At one time Ford Taurus was the best selling car in America. Does that make it good?

Not sure that the statistic you are referring to reflecting the return rate. I worked at Costco and saw people return Vizio 4,5 out of 10 while none of Sony was returned unless something was broken.

i thought it was an awesome deal...took advantage of it. Sony 52" 1080p LCD for 1699 no tax no shipping, never thought i would pay so little for such a huge Sony tv. didn't see many reviews on this tv but looked at reviews for the kdl46v4100 and they were all excellent...those that i did see for this tv were good.

in for one. Sure its best deal. Tried to compare Samsung 52 with this. Only diff is there is no USB port in Sony. but i think Sony is Sony!
