Cub Cadet 20HP 46" cut Zero turn riding mower. This item normally sells for $2999, but is priced $1599

PRICE UPDATE: The mower is now selling for $1199.00
8/6/2008 - PRICE UPDATE: While the mower is not on sales floor, they are staged in the outside gardening area with a sticker indicating the price is 1799.

SKU 955-112

I saw this at the HD clearance center located in Austell Ga, a one of a kind HD store. Based on my experience, if a local store has this item, it will not be the same, but worth a check.

Latest inventory as of today@10:15

Cub Cadet i1046 - sku 955-112 - 3 on the floor. One w/out a price, and the other two had two different prices one for $27xx.xx and the other for $25xx.xx. I went to CSR for a price check, the price came up at $1799.00 - I saw it myself

Cub Cadet i1042 - sku 755-733 - 7 on the floor. Tag indicates these were originally $2699 They at tagged at $1799 and the price check confirmed the same.

Cub Cadet GT1554 - sku 621-851 - 2 on the floor. Tag indicates these were originally $3000.00. They are priced at $2355.24. When I was there on 8/6 I saw this in the back stock area.

As I mentioned in my post on 8/6 I saw 12 or so mowers in the back stock labeled at $1799. Based on the current inventory, these were probably the i1042 model, not the i1046 as I first thought. I did not look at the back stock today, but from the street I could see some more Cadet tractors there.

$2500 for that SKU in my area. Are you sure that is the correct SKU? Mabe just not reduced that much yet in my area.

Thanks!

hot deal, but more than likely only available for that one store.

Yes, very sure. This is likely only available at the clearance center in Austell Ga. This is a one of a kind store that has been very successful. While some of the items are unique to this store, I have seen others that are still stocked at stores in the immediate area selling for the full price.

Did they have any more in austell location?

Turns out the one they have here is used for 2 weeks and they manager says they still can't go lower than $2K. I'm going to try again with the other manager on monday. I think used + c;earance should be el cheapo no? What would be a reasonable price given that it is already used?

When I posted this, I would estimate they had at least 50 of these. When I drove by there yesterday, I saw some more Cub Cadet mowers (probably the same model) in the former greenhouse area.
Regrading your other post, I am not sure what a good price for a used one is. I think they had a standard %off that they apply to mowers like the one that you described, those that have been used and returned by a customer who did not like it, etc.

Sears has this mower which seems to be comparable for $1599 and it's got 2hp over the OP's mower.

Nice mower, but you are comparing apples to pears. The cub cadet has zero turn radius, the craftsman does not.

And how about this, regardless of where you buy the mower from, there is a 60-day Money Back Guarantee

Would you mind posting a copy of the receipt if you have it? It might help. I'm going to talk to the store manager today to see what he can do.

Thanks,

They are $1199 now!!

After calling them this morning to verify the $1599 price I was told they were now $1199. I just drove up there today from Brunswick, GA (~650 miles round trip) and got one. Spent a little over $200 in fuel, but even after adding that in there I have <$1500 total invested, tax and all. They still had "several"..........how many was hard to tell. They have some out on the main floor (~20 more when I left @ ~5pm) and have some "in the back" (not sure how many are back there). Most of the mfg dates on the bottom of the seats were 2/07 and 3/07 (at least I'm guessing that was the date of mfg of the mower and not just the seat......don't know why anybody would care when the seat was made!). I don't know if that makes them 2007 models or not, or if they even changed for 2008, but I didn't really care for the price! They were in various levels of clean to dirty although NONE of them looked to be used. Some, you could tell, had spent more time outside than others, or so I am assuming from the amount of rust (or lack of) on the axles, etc. (nothing major that would make you not want the mower, though).

Anyhow, I got mine off the trailer, hooked the battery up, put it on a charger while I did a few other things, added some gas, and it fired right up. Everything seems to work just fine and the hour meter read 0.1 when I turned on the key.

THANK YOU "makeadeal" for alerting people to this deal. I was actually contemplating purchasing the larger 25hp/50" version from a "local" (55 miles away) independent dealer for $3,000 and was doing some searching online to see if people were happy with them when I found this post.

just an fyi for those that don't know about cub cadet. they used to be a very well respected manufactuer of tractors / outdoor equipment.

unfortunately they were bought out by MTD Products a few years ago, they make Murray, Yardman, Bolens and other low end products that you find at stores like Kmart. They also contract manufacture many Sears low end products (tractors / snow throwers etc.).

They also bought out the very well respected Troy-Bilt company. Both troy-bilt and cub cadet products have dropped significantly in quality and their warranties shortened. in addition MTD has stopped producing replacement parts for most older products leaving loyal customers holding the bag.

Stezlaki, I am glad it worked out for you, and welcome to FW.

For those wanting an extended warranty -- I think they have a large sign near checkout that says an extended warranty can be purchased for $89. Don't hold me to this, but I think it is a multi year warranty, so it may be available for any purchase..again not really sure.

Well, that's what it looks like because of the big non-specific sign that says something like "Extended Warranty $89," but that's not the price for the mowers, assuming the girl checking me out knew what she was doing. Her computer pulled up a 4-year warranty for $299 for the mower. I'm not sure what the $89 warranty was for...........maybe appliances since that's what filled half the building??? Supposedly the mowers have a 3 year/120 hour factory warranty to begin with, at least according to Cub Cadet's website.

I used the mower tonight for the first time. I'm impressed.......the mower worked VERY well. Definitely saves a TON of time.

I think the only reason Home Depot has so many of them to "clearance" is due to poor advertising. I'd be willing to bet a VERY small percentage of the population knows they exist even though they have probably walked past one in Home Depot or Tractor Supply at some point in time. I can honestly say that if I knew this mower was of the quality that Cub Cadet USED to be known for, I'd be thrilled with it even at $2999.

Per Stezlaki, the price has dropped to $1199 - title updated.

I'm definately interested, can anyone advise address or phone for Austell location?
Not sure I'm getting all the info, don't want to drive 4 hours to be shut out.

Can anyone confirm the model #? HDonline doesnt like sku 955-112, and my local store
doesn't have a 46" 20hp zero turn on display.

Edit I did find the 955-112 on the display board at the store, listed at $2999, but none in stock, and certainly not at this price

Thanks much

I got a five hour drive ahead of me to get in on this any idea on the stock left?
