Thanks OP.
According to the Getty website, admission is free anyway...? http://www.getty.edu/visit/ It is free. Parking is not. That's how it's always been. However, if you want to go to the Getty Villa (that's the one that just re-opened a few months ago after years of renovation; off the PCH not the Brentwood/Palisades one) then I think it's like $20 or something. Not sure if it too is on the list since I didn't look at the list yet. |

well thanks, but not much good for me in Houston. Five "museums" in the Houston area participating, only they're all... well, not what I'd consider a real museum. Children's Museum of Houston, Buffalo Soldiers National Museum, Holocaust Museum Houston, Dunham Bible Museum... Bahhh, and the Heritage Society Museum, all kinda small and very specific (limited) in their exhibits. Thought I might do something cultural for once and the major museums aren't even involved. |

Ugh, not too many museums in Arizona either. The Arizona Science Center isn't participating. The Phoenix Zoo might be worth checking out. Thanks though. Actually, the Challenger Space Center is looking pretty good. |

According to the Getty website, admission is free anyway...? http://www.getty.edu/visit/ Yeah... looking through the Southern California options, none of the top $$$ venues are on the list. Notably absent: LACMA and Huntington Library Thanks for the post though OP! (don't wanna thread crap as I'm sure this is a good deal in other parts of the nation) |

Metropolitan Museum of Art is always almost free. I f you look carefully you'll see the small words "suggested donation" below the prices. You can just give a dime any day and get in. |

I work in a museum. I could use my museum ID to get into any nationwide museum for free anyway. If a museum admission is "suggested", then give them a penny. Museums are generally rich with private donations. They don't need your money. |
