Present the Museum Day admission card to receive free general admission at participating Museum Day locations. The admission card is available in the September 2008 issue of Smithsonian magazine or downloadable via this site.

The following Museum Day restrictions apply: One time use on September 27, 2008 unless otherwise specified. Card must be presented for free general admission. Admission Card will be collected upon entry. General admission only. Does not include entry to special exhibits or IMAX screenings. Admission Card is good for general admission for you plus one guest. One Admission Card per household. Not for use with any other offer. No rain checks. Some participating museums may already have a free admission policy year round and are participating in the "spirit" of the day.

Museums and cultural venues participate in Museum Day voluntarily. Smithsonian magazine encourages museum visitation, but is not responsible for individual museum content or participation.

OK, who's going to remind me when this comes up? Is there a FW mechanism for this yet? Like "email/sms me when this deal goes live"

Just a side note, many of these "Museums" already have free admission. Two examples ... Saint Louis Art Museum & Saint Louis Science Center

I was hoping that MoMA or the Guggenheim would be on that list, i guess no triple AAA stuff for the unwashed masses

One card per household, good for 2 people each.

Thanks! It worked. I've printed the admission ticket sucessfully. Now hopefully I won't forget about this in 2 months.

Does anyone know which museum is worth visiting for the Bay Area?

Exploratorium is always a fun one. After that, you can swing by Camera Works out by the Cliff House to finish off the day.

Thanks! Since its still 2 months away, I've set myself a reminder and alarm on Outlook.

If you've got Gmail calendar, you can set it to send you an email the day before. That's what I'm planning on doing.
