how much is for 4 all season tires for honda civic?
thanks Get the X-Radial DTs. They are the highest rated in consumer reports. I believe when I bought them last year they were around $70/tire. |

The Michelin Primacy(?) is the successor to the Energy series and comes standard on a lot of midsize cars...mainly because it helps with the EPA ratings. They are pricey, at $120-$140 retail, but driving 12,000 miles a year with today's gas prices, they will essentially pay for themselves in the first year or so (vs. a cheaper, but higher-resistance tire). YMMV--you lose traction and cornering in exchange for the harder compound. Personally, I'll take a cheaper Kumho or Falken tire that only lasts 20-30k miles if it means the best braking and cornering for the price. Personal preference! |

Does this work if you buy them online (after 8/4), or do you need to just show up? If I just need to show up, should I call first to see if they have my tires in stock? |

Can someone give me best advise that in Costco I can get BFGoodrich - Traction T/AŽ for $81.99 installed This is is H rated tire. OTOH from TireRack I get Kumho Ecsta ASX for $50.00 + installation. but this is VR Speed Rated. The money difference is not that big, but just want to make sure that get the best. please advise that which one is better. thanks |

has anyone been able to get costco to install tires with a lower rating than the tires that the car came with out of the dealer.
Easiest way to do this is to tell them the car is the lowest model. For instance, once of our cars is a Volvo R that came with 155mph tires and 300 horses trapped in there. By telling them it was the regular version (~160hp), they would install 100 mph tires - much cheaper.
The guy who takes your order simply types what you tell him into the computer. If you try this, make sure you check wheel size first. Some cars use larger wheels in the higher trims. Called a "+1" or "+2" config as it is known in the tire industry. |

Michelin will know what promotions are going on there and may not allow us to double dip. And make sure you buy them quickly because the extra rebate expires within 5 days of the Costco promo kickoff. I haven't decided if I'll try this, since I only really am looking for 2 tires at the moment. The rebate form says "This offer is not valid or redeemable with any other Michelin promotion or offer". Costco's $60 is basically a sale, and as far as I know is from Costco and not a Michelin deal. So IMO I think the deals should be stackable. YMMV |

Costco has a disclaimer on their website: Costco will only install tires authorized for a specific vehicle. Does it mean Costco will not install the tires for me unless the tires I purchase from them is authorized for my vehicle model? If this is true, then it sucks. I have a Mazda 6 and the OEM tires coming with it suck big a$$. I really wanna get rid of them. However, Costco shows me no other alternatives on their website besides these piece-of-junk OEM tires. Also, how much is the difference between the V and H speed rating? |

I was NOT a big fan of Michelin's Energy MXV4 line. I am glad they discontinued it. What tire has no mileage warranty at all?! I passed on the Primacy MXV4 because like you said, you're sacrificing traction. I instead special ordered the Pilot Exalto A/S for both my cars and they are fantastic. 45K mile warranty vs. 60K on the Primacy, but well worth it. The tires are great in the dry and rain. The rubber is softer so you won't get the most miles out of them, but they sure are grippy. |

It's a pity their website won't let you just search by tire size instead of by car. One of my cars is +0'ed and the other is +1'd. Oddly enough I couldn't find any tires in 185/60R14 which is an extremely common size (and I've even bought 185/60R14 BF Goodrich Traction T/A's from Costco before). I always mount/balance/install my own tires, so I don't know if they'll install different sized tires on the car, but I know they won't go below the original load rating (and probably speed rating). H = 130 mph, V = 149 mph by the way |

The coupons were on the counter in the Tire Center. I was more interested in the lowest price tire, so I chose the BF Goodriches for my Camry. As an aside, business was very slow. They put my tires on in less than an hour, in the past it's been at least a two hour wait before they even started working on my car. |

The coupon apply to BF Goodriches? before promotion usually go gives less discount (like 40 off 4 BF G) BTW, I will definitely call or visit the B&M instead of checking what the online stock. They gives more options from BF also (for my 02 Odyssey) that one OEM listed on site. (which real bad...) My the other car 99 Protege EX was using Costco's install of BF Goodriches Traction T/A (the oem Bridgestone Potenza RE92 was horrible) .. (my right/back side has no good aliagment so it wear the right side faster.) Then I order Sumitomo HTR+ from TireRack. The saving after installation wasn't too much with coupon. But the tires gives 2-3 MPG more instantly. However, its has soft wall that when there is bump on curve and feel like shaking... Take about my option to speed it on curve... |
