Hey All,

I saw the Cambridge Soundworks Radio 705 at Frys priced at $25 in white or black. I brought one up to the register to buy and it rang up for only $20. I plan to use it to listen to the radio at work and since they are only $20 I picked up another for the kitchen. Very nice unit for the price. It includes an aux input and headphone output, in addition to the built in speaker.

Steve

Heads-up, the FM is stereo at the headphone output.

B&M only? I searched at frys.com and couldn't find it.

Same here, dangit! That is a REALLY good sounding radio at a flaming price. To pick one up at the nearest Frys would cost more than $49.95 in gas.

I bought one of these at Frys on a recent visit to Houston. It was $40 and worth every penny. This is one quality radio. At $20 it is a steal and if I was anywhere near a Frys I would buy several more for miscellaneous uses and for gifts.

$20 for this radio is a bargain. I wish there was a Fry's in the DC/MD area.

Specs say it's stereo at the headphone jack, as thekid72 said.

Yes it is a stereo headphone output; it works for both the FM radio and as a pass-through for a device attached to the aux input. I attached my mp3 player to the aux input and listened to it via the built in speaker. I then ran the headphone output to an amp and drove a pair of infinity speakers - worked great!

It accepts an external FM antenna for better reception too.

I picked up one of these at Fry's City of Industry today. This is a HOT deal. The radio sounds awesome. And the build quality is quite good for this price. And personally, I love the retro look to it.

They had about 15-20 left. Forget about eBay resale on this though...buy it for yourself or as a gift!

I'll be in Northern Cali this weekend. Calling Fry's was no help. Can someone who brought one recently tell me if any one of them has it in stock?

I'll be kinda driving by SanFran and Sacramento, so I can potentially go to any one of the ones in NorCal....

FYI, there weren't any at OR or WA store...

A quick update:

I confirmed no stock at Seattle area, Portland area, and Sacramento area fry (I finally found 2 at Roseville and brought them both for ~$42 after taxes)

I did not check any other stores.... so best of luck.

I did a quick informal test at a relative's home in SanFran and compared to a generic Japanese boombox (cost ~$50-100 I think) with an external antenna, this 705 radio had much lower noise than the boombox. I only tested 2 AM radio stations though...

Thanks to the original poster!
