Both great products. I use the CIT200 at work and the CIT400 at home. The only downside to the CIT200 is no MacOSX driver support.

It's quite easy to learn how to link.

Sorry, newbie here and wasn't sure how. Thanks for the linky!

These prices are a bit high, especially for the CIT400, as the products are quickly being outdated. Plus, the driver support is very poor, particularly with respect to Windows Vista and especially with respect to x64 support.

I got the CIT200 refurbished from Buy.com for under $20 after "first-time" Google Checkout.

CIT400 don't need any connection to computers so why need driver support? Just connect the base to router and sign in to Skype on handset and you can talk. I think in one time gold box deal the price was lowered to $60 or $70, but most of the time the best price is around $90.

Anybody know about a deal on a Skype phone that can altogether bypass the computer?

frys has a netgear phone for 99$ that doesnt need a computer

Looks like the Netgear on Sale at Fry's is only available at their B&M. I looked online, then called them up and they did not have that available. None of them in the Northeast US (I am in Connecticut). So, that option is out.

I was almost hitting the buy button on Philips 841 through Skype, with a contract for one year (total for an year comes to be a very sweet deal, when I got to know that they seem to be phasing out the phone overseas. Given that their last hardware update was in June 2007, that is quite logical and so I decided to wait for the launch of their newer version (I am hoping a month to two) and then buy it...

If you have heard any news about the Philips 841 being phased out in the US, I would really like to know.

Thanks...

Indi

The $99 Netgear phone is SPH200W and is crap. I have CIT200 and got the netgear to avoid having the computer on all the time. The Netgear battery is poor (instead of the rechrgable AAA on CIT200). Further the call quality is terrible. They make these WiFi phones small so as to carry them around but sacrifice build and voice quality. I am extremely happy with CIT200 except for needing the PC to be on.

$29.99 @ Circuit City w/ free shipping Link

Edit: Hmmm...The phone has a different picture than the one on Amazon, but it says its the CIT200. I have not purchased it and cannot confirm the model number validity.

Wow! It's actually $19.99, and with coupon code PYAXCA7AG9, you get an extra 20% off for in-store pickup! Thanks for the heads up.

Note that you can buy up to four of these and link them all together. So you get a four-handset system, and at $2.95 per month for unlimited domestic calling, you've got the cheapest VoIP system that money can buy.
