Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaang a 24 FOOT screen?

Just messing with you (inches is " not ' however I do not mean this to come off as a smart arse comment, merely a sarcastic remark so I can laugh at how stupid I am)
Disregard...

Looks like they have replaced the pva panels with tn's and reduced the resolution and the price.

Not bad but not in the same category as the 2405fpw of old.

ill take my 2405fpw over this... granted it has hdcp but the the loss of 120 lines is just s shame

wow 16:9...interesting

watch out those who got attracted with the model #"2409"

This new 2409 model is NOT anything like famous superb 240xFPW series.
This is a TN panel monitor.
people who wants 240x's performance, think again.

It might be good to put that it's a 16:9 Panel in the title as opposed to 16:10. Manufacturers are all going to be moving to 16:9 soon because they're cheaper to produce. Kind of sucks since you're losing out on a lot of vertical height and having more horizontal pixels isn't going to help when looking at most websites. But if you're going to be using this to watch Highdef movies or movies in general then it should be pretty good.

^I would say it would be decent for movies. Not excellent, since it is only a TN panel

How to know it uses va panel technology or TN panel technology? thanks.

TN/PVA difference is overrated. That being said, this is one ugly display.

alert mods

^It's not overrated if you use the monitor for color-critical things, such as graphic design or photography. If you're using it for games, then no it doesn't matter. I for one will probably never buy a TN panel because it doesn't meet my needs.

I was ready to raise hell on this thing, then I noticed one thing - the PRICE.
It's a 24" widescreen LCD, new from Dell, with HDMI in (and I'm a little pissed that the resolution isn't 1920x1200 - dammit), for less than $400.

I thought to myself - just get the 2408 - but at six bills (or more) it's close to twice the price.
Hmmm.

I really don't understand the complaints about ~120 less vertical pixels. I don't get why widescreen monitors were even 16:10 to begin with. I have a 900px vertical display on my laptop and I can use the internet just fine. If anything, I stack my windows horizontally so more space for that is welcome. Ultimately, they aren't cutting any pixels. They're just being reallocated horizontally to the standard 16:9 HD format.

My brother purchased this model last week and after seeing it in person, I will be buying it as well.
